He would be a 7th or 8th man at Texas and Miami is in worse shape than we are are in. If he is smart, he will stay here as a # 2 guard and Capel can buy a PG from the portal.
It could be that he got an offer from us that's less than he expected so he wants to see what the alternatives look like.

yeah, I read option to return to Pitt as see if his new offers are any better, if not then come back.
“No contact” likely means he got an offer from another school that he is serious about taking/already accepted. In order to transfer, he has to officially go into the portal. Many think it’s Miami, since the new coach is close with his Dad. He may give Pitt a number me needs to not leave.
Miami is in infinitely better shape than Pitt. Forget this year’s record, they have resources and will no doubt spent at the top of the ACC on their roster.

I'm sure Capel is trying hard to get another PG to replace him, if he's smart. That part is up for debate, but he should be looking around. If I were Capel and Lowe said he'd return, I'd say he returns at less money than he was getting and he'll be on the bench and not a starter. I know I've moved on from him and don't really care where he goes, including if he returns to Pitt (which he won't). Capel has way too much work to do to assemble a completely new team for next year. Lowe is gone and he better know it.
It means he can choose which schools he can initiate contact with and not be hassled with texts and calls from Other schools. Doesn’t say they can’t contact his agent so At the end of the day it’s not far from nothing. I suspect he knows where he’d like to go. If he can cut a deal with those schools hell go. If not he’ll stay. He’s doing the smart thing and testing the market While I think he’s over rated I don’t blame him for determining his value on the market

If you want to compete, you'd better find a lot of money to do it.
I'd just like Pitt to finish with a winning record in the ACC and more than 20 wins total. That would be an improvement over what we have now. But going into Capel's 8th year, it's unacceptable to think we've only been to 1 NCAAT in that time span. He should be coaching them to 25+ wins and high seeds by now, if he's an ACC level coach. Next year, I don't see how he can get us there unless we get some extremely high end portal players that could be starters immediately.
