Dude stop it. This is what Capel ask him to do. He is the best player on the team. When he does pass most times they miss the shot. If he doesnt do what he did in.the 2nd half they lose. Why all these post being put on there about his game is riduculous. Its funny watching Blake Hinson forcing outlandished shots every game he played, and none of you picked his play apart. All the TOs, selfish play hogging the ball and not passing to open teammates. But that is okay. You people need to get a grip.

The problem the team has starts with Capel and end with him. Cohren contiously gets abused, but he refuses to let Kante play about minutes a game. The one game he gets extended minutes he was the best big on the court. If miss one shot and not grab a RB he is out the rest of the game. Cummings who provided outside shooting which allowed Lowe and Ish open lanes to the basket early in the season, is not allowed any rhythm in any game since Dunn has returned. Then designing the offense for Lowe and Ish to dribble drive througg double teams every play is bad coaching.

Next you will be telling me he was coached to dribble down the sideline, linches from out of bounds for three quarter length of the court?

Lowe still put up waaaay too much junk today. He also needs to stop foul hunting against bigger and longer defenders. Even a very very average Cuse team made him look rough for most of the game.

In the end he was 8/19, which is one more made FG than his season average, an average which again, is the worst in the country for a P6 guard.

What he did BETTER today was cut down on the turnovers and work the offense a bit, which was nice (and effective). He needs to take those half dozen GARBAGE shots where he’s throwing up prayers while being double teamed, and turn those into meaningful possessions.

The result is night and day for this team. And turns these 2-4 possession losses into competitive winnable battles.

Its because the guy is totally obsessed with Amsal. He did this with the Stop the Steal on the other board. He latches onto a topic and then posts 48 tweets that he thinks proves him right. For him, Amsal is one of the best players on this team and the key to its success.

Lowe had 22 points and 6 assists. Cut the nonsense.
Statically, Lowe had a very good game.

He continues to make bad decisions. Yesterday, he made some difficult shots while making bad decisions.

Making difficult shots is not something to depend on.

I would like us to move the ball a lot more and replace difficult shots with more easy shots, maybe even some movement driven free throws.

Yup. This crap is what Capel wants. A good coach would reel him in a bit

Lowe does make some bad decisions and sometimes dribbles around til he has to force a shot. He needs to give it up quicker in the shot clock. But it is very noticeable that our overall guard play has gone down since Dunne came back. He needs to get his head back on strait.

I knew Amsal had to be in the game for this clip. Hey, Pitt is 4-0 now when Amsal plays! Those 6 minutes were huge.

I don't know how Pitt could have replaced those six minutes of 1 missed three and 1 rebound had he not played.

Clearly, he was the linchpin, just like he was against Stanford with his five minutes of one two pointer and one turnover after we already had a 20 point lead.

Any minute now I expect a link to a tweet from some moron, er, I mean basketball expert telling us that it's not a coincidence that Pitt won after he got in the game, just like the Stanford game.

Lowe leads Pitt in field goal attempts per game and in 3-point attempts per game. He also has the lowest shooting percentage of any regular player, by quite a bit, and the lowest 3-point percentage. He needs to get the ball to better shooters.

It was good to see him play a game with only one turnover.

My main pet peeve with Lowe is he gets a lot of switches off the 1/4 or 1/5 screens where big guys end up on him, ISO at the top of the key. Instead of driving on them or looking for the big guarded by little now, he does step back threes and frequently either misses badly or gets blocked. I have no clue why he likes shooting over big guys but it almost never works.

I mean he is more likely to get minutes in games where Pitt is leading or has a lead. Correlation does not mean causation. But, maybe those 6 minutes of rest for who he replaces do help reenergize that/those players. You can’t run 5 guys 40 minutes a game.

He’s clearly bothered by the length of bigger teams.

He is also clearly our best ball handler, so most possessions will be run through him. He just needs to recognize when to force things and when not to.

It doesn’t help that he’s missing wide open jump shots this year too, but I won’t fault him for that per se. But he can’t keep chucking up junk around the paint night in and night out or I’m going to go grey by March.

Pitt Fans 2000-2015: We stink because we don’t have a go to guy who can take over a game! The offense is too boring. Let guys cook!

Pitt Fans in 2025: Our go to guy is too selfish! We should pass the ball more and restrict offensive freedom!

So you want the statistically most inefficient P6 guard in the country to be our go to scorer, and complain about two decades of Pitt fans in the process who don’t want that? Well done.

Godforbid we want to restrict the green light of, again, the most inefficient guard in the country.

Despite all that, Jaland Lowe is fully capable of being the PG the team needs this year, while keeping his mojo. The coaches have to facilitate it.

What did they say from 2016-2017 until 2021-2022?

There’s about a 500 mile gap between those 2 extremes! You know better than that.

Because our "go to guy" in 2025 has lost his ability to make anything other than a layup.
