I'm not sure I have ever heard an AD thank General Counsel during a coach introduction. Maybe I just always miss it because its not top of mind but she mentioned the head of that department by name and I wonder if she slid that in there as a silent way of saying "sorry, couldn't do it" to all the Sean Miller fans out there.

They likely had to do some vetting for Capel going to back to his Oklahoma days to clear him.
I doubt it had much to do with Miller. He wasn't being considered for the job even though he wanted it. When Hurley turned it down, her sights were set on Capel. She wisely didn't show her cards.
Maybe the legal counsel comment was just a general comment as employers always check backgrounds and her legal team was a part of checking Capel's background to do their own vetting.

Lyke did a great job in all areas on all counts.Using the resources available to make a great deal is the sign of a really good manager!
Both Mrs Buffett and I were concerned about her EMU experience as maybe not being what PITT needs at this time. Our thoughts were with everything going on at PITT we might need more horsepower but we're believers.
If you want to shut up your critics all you have to do is deliver and Lyke did! Reasonable people move from critics to fans!
