We already have a thread about bashing Wanny as a coach. Is this the pre-emptive thread to bash the idea of Wanny as AD?
Ha? Swann played for the Steelers and lived in Sewickley. This isn’t some random guy.
Wake up and stop giving the job to football alums? Last three ADs were Mike Garrett, Pat Haden, and Swann. What's Matt Leinart doing these days?
They never really recovered from the Reggie Bush thing. Kind of disgusting that USC suffered more for a player dealing with an agent too early than Penn State did for covering up child rape or UNC for massive academic fraud.
Good for Pitt though in that Swann no longer positioned to make overtures to Narduzzi
Lynn got a lot of highlights on every network at the start of its "100th year" hype yesterday. Particularly the tumbling catch over Mark Washington in SB X. That clip was featured on everyone's intro. So at least he had that going for him, which was nice.
I wonder how Washington feels about all those years of being 'featured' in so many clips and viewings of Swann's great catches... The Best Supporting Actor as it were. If I were him I'd feel ok, because he had solid to great coverage on those plays. It's not like he was in the Steeler secondary last night.

USC's recruiting rankings over the past 10 years: 3, 3, 8, 13, 10, 2, 10, 4, 4, 20. There isn't anything holding them back but themselves.

Swann was a good sideline reporter at one point. He should go back to that.
So hard to bet on Clay Helton as a road favorite, guy is totally overwhelmed by that job. Once they fade at some point this year I’m curious what level of support he will have there with Swann gone.
The boosters want Urban Meyer. I would guess the next AD will have strong ties to Urban.
OK, I know Swann is older than I am, but it looks like that job robbed him of his former youthful appearance.

Current USC Pres Carol Folt was the Chancellor at UNC after fake Af Am classes were discovered.
Along with a mega UNC legal team she lead the push against the NCAA that even those there were fake Af Am classes that significantly benefited UNC bball and football players the NCAA could not penalize UNC because the NCAA has no jurisdiction. As we all know the NCAA caved.
She was later pushed out by UNC BOT due to a power struggle over Civil War Statue Silent Sam and other issues.
She is no academic angel.

Also, there are rumors that Swann had a health issue this past year that was feared to be serious. Family friends told me that some Dr's diagnosed him with a serious heart condition but he seems to be much better now. He was only hired because he was the only person in America who would take the job that all the warring USC factions respected. He's been a figurehead at best. He probably wants to cash his check and relax away from the craziness.

When has the NCAA seriously punished a major public university like UNC? Private U’s seem to get hit the hardest followed by mid-major public schools like UNLV while the likes of UNC, Penn State, Michigan State and so on get a slap on the wrist.
