They asked if we would be interested in a reverse buyout to give Mumbles an extended internship.

4th year: His players, his play calling. They should have known this would happen.

If Wisconsin wants to dump a Coach that is 39-10 (25-6 in conference) with 3 straight bowl wins and two consecutive top 10 finishes, they will find plenty of takers. Nebraska found out the hard way what happens when you get rid of coaches who win over 70% of their games but are called out as not having done enough.

I'd certainly take him, but along with his coordinators and assistants and support structure and guiding hand of his mentor/ AD. Dropping him in cold with a bare bones allotment (and no guidance) for hiring a staff, plus cheech and chong's Up In Smoke van (minus the smoke) for recruiting, will get you, well, 6-7 seasons at best.

Haven't you heard? Wisconsin never beats anyone good. Those numbers are all an illusion. The went to the Orange Bowl last year because of a computer mistake.

How did things turn out for Bret Bielema after leaving Wisconsin? What about Gary Andersen? Wisconsin seems to have marched along quite well without missing a beat.

Wisconsin has a sweet setup right now (for any coach) but I guess some of their fans want more. I don't see them ever being a power in the mold of OSU, or Alabama, but they can continue winning 10+ games year and going to a good bowl indefinitely.

Wisconsin rarely beats anyone good. The only illusion in their record is that only play 2 or 3 good years per year.

Western Kentucky, New Mexico, BYU, Rutgers, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota, Northwestern (manhandled by Duke last 2 years, lost to Akron) and Purdue (a 4-4 team),

That's leaves Iowa (doesn't have a quality win), PedSt and Michigan (already got smoked)

Any top 25 team should have a floor of 9 wins playing that schedule. They already have 3 losses.

Yep those big wins against Psu and Osu were something to behold in the b10 title game. They always come up strong against the strongest opponents on their schedule

The B1G west is pretty pathetic this year. Wisconsin and Iowa I guess are the class teams, but both are meh.

Iowa's offense is pathetic. They had the Peds under their thumb with the ball on their 4, but the qb wanted to change the play, mass confusion, didn't call to and tossed an easy int.

Nebraska is Rutgers west this year. The rest of pedestrian or worse.

So it will come down to Michigan/tOSU like it always does.
Then we'll have to hear about how they beat each other up, and how balanced it is, blah, blah...

I'm more interested in seeing them beat PSU in two weeks
I'd love for them to beat Penn State in two weeks, but they lack the one thing needed to beat any top caliber team, a good quarterback. Hornibrook is a game manager at best, and those types of quarterback rarely beat good teams. The poor recruiting of the quarterback position has followed Chryst to Madison.

I believe that happened to a football program called PITT a few times with different coaches. Maybe not quite 70% but they PITT were in a better place at those times than they are now with a 4-8 staring PITT fans in the face.

The next four games are tough ones!

Go PITT & CSU Rams!

I am generally pro Chryst but it is notable how bad his quarterback recruiting has been for a guy who actually does a good job coaching his quarterbacks up when he gets one with any skill at all. It doesn't add up.
