Like him too. Really nice athleticism and body control. Can penetrate some and get to the rim at times. Doesn't shoot it bad either. He's more of a combo than a true lead guard. Needs to work on his D like a lot of young guys. But has a chance to be a real good one.
Nothing wrong with compliments towards Carr...also Stevenson who I am more cautious on. Those two look like excellent recruits.
The problem is there weren’t enough of those guys. I keep hearing “well those are stallings top guys, so Davis, Stevenson, and Carr are what a normal stalling class will look like.” There are just so many issues with that statement.
The two main issues are that stallings had so much playing time to sale that that might be the reason those guys came here. Who knows if Carr commits if he has to sit on the bench or play 10 minutes his fresh year. Second, is that this isn’t a draft, you don’t have to get less talent as you recruit more guys, you can get 6 four star guys if you want.
In any case, complimenting some of the guys is fine, however when we have threads like gary’s having a ridiculous hypothetical game between Dixon and stallings recruits or him constantly touting how great pitt’s defense is because they held Duquesne to 40% shootings, or SMF telling us how he is sure Parker Stewart is a legitimate ACC player because he hit 4 threes against Duquesne...it simply is not rooted k reality.
