Mark Richt leaving the U

Everyone thought they hit a homerun and it turned into a dumpster fire. Its hard to find the right coach.

Would go Lane Kiffin. He'd bring in Bama/Clemson recruiting classes and will win 9 games on talent alone

Just read that part of the reason he retired was he knew changes needed to be made but didnt want to go through firing friends on the staff.

Very interesting. Unless they throw a lot of money at him, I have to think Cristobal stays at Oregon. He has a chance to be very successful next year with QB Herbert returning. Not to mention a wide-open PAC 12 and the Phil Knight money. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Well what does wifey say? Can't see him leaving a top 10 team next year.

Figured he was on the hot seat.

Heupel is probably the best choice

I doubt Diaz would be interested as he likely would have known Richt was leaving before he took the temple job

As others have said crisobal has a great gig at Oregon

Here’s a name Matt Campbell. Dude can coach

Not to mention that Oregon has the #1 rated facilities in college football the last 3 years.

Not sure I'd want to face Josh Huepel led offenses every year...after 2019, Let's hope it's the end.

Obviously, I hope the bungle they hire, but the talent runs deep there.

So did Willie Taggart...

HAHAHA... Richt was and will always be a mediocre coach. Where is that idiot on this site who argued what a great coach Richt was when Miami hired him? Probably hiding.

He wasn’t great, but his 26-12 record was a hell of a lot better than his immediate predecessors.

Both Randy Shannon (28-22) and Al Golden (32-25) were absolutely terrible.

He's a great coach, but also has one of the highest "buy out" clauses in college football, 24 million dollars. I would have to think that would be a prohibited amount to most schools.

I posted in October urban was leaving and Matt Campbell is the choice .

But with this buyout , I think Campbell may soon be in the NFL.

Must have been total disintegration going on there much of this year. Yet in the midst they still managed to stomp the feces out of us. :(

I suggested in a post several days ago that this needed to happen.

Except maimi didnt cut its losses. Richt retired unexpectedly after he was told to make changes to his staff. Blake James their ad said he was shocked and blindsided by the move.

Diaz seems the best fit. Just got a gig though. Kiffin actually might not he a bad idea.
Kiffin is always a bad idea.

Can’t believe he still has people that believe he’s something beyond his shitty career record and big mouth.

Then again, roughly half of the voting age people in the US thought it would be great to elect a media-manipulating charlatan NYC real estate developer turned reality TV star to the world’s most important job, and apparently some 37% or so still think that was a good idea. So I guess I can see where Kiffin still has his believers out there.

PT Barnum wasn’t wrong.

Wouldn't be shocked if Diaz is offered the job and he takes it.....crazier things have happened before.

I'm really suprised though that Richt decided to walk away. Good coach that did well at two high profile programs, but just never got them to an elite championship level.

Lower profile P5 programs would be satisfied with Richt as their head coach.

Say what? His teams won 9 or more games in 13 of his 18 years as a Head Coach. His career record is 171-64. He may not be an elite coach, but he is certainly better than mediocre. He was a play away from winning a Natty in 2012.
