Temple gave him a 6 year extension. If they can keep Rhule for that long, Narduzzi needs to be locked up very soon for a lot of money with a huuuuuuge buyout.

Lot of respect for the people running Temple but Rhule is gone soon as that emotional wreck over in State College finally has a public mental breakdown.

True. But will they ever fire Franklin when he has 7 guaranteed wins scheduled every season?

We benefit by franklin being a snake oil salesman; keep him there forever!

Im guessing the Rhule extension is part of their push to get the stadium built.

Anyone who actually believes that extension will keep him at Temple is very naïve.

Given his ties there, I don't doubt that he would throw his hat in the ring, but that would be the only college job I could see him leaving for.

There is no such thing as "locked up" in college sports. They could've given Rhule a 100-year extension.... and it means nothing. He could be gone tomorrow.

Talked to a 35-year season ticket holder from UPS yesterday---they are already fed up with Franklin, had nothing good to say

Oh no doubt the fans are sick of him. But they don't do the firing and hiring. Will be interesting to see what happens.

I admire your obvious loyalty, but I think he would leave Temple in a minute for most any good P5 conference job. If offered, he would be very wise to do so while the iron is still hot.

Once again, Narduzi is focused on making his Team better to win more games, not Contracts or Money! Coach Pat knows that goes with winning!

a ham sandwich with a headset describes franklin to a t. really good recruiter but game day this guy is out to lunch.

Any coach they hired would have 7 guaranteed wins every season with their schedule.

A Ham Sandwich with a headset on would have 7 guaranteed wins with PSU's schedule.

Franklin has a New Plan, just like when Old Plan did not work out when he came to Penn State, but now Franklin needs a New OC!

Only a few problems now.....Harbaugh, Rhule, Ferentz, Meyer, Dantonio and Narduzzi have Plans too, called Game Day Plans, and Franklin still looking for one?

Well, their opponent in the bowl game fired their coach for "only" winning 9 games just about every season, including this one.

I wonder if this is sort of a new normal for college coaches. I mean why jump to a SU or RU if you are in a great spot currently. Rhule and Herman are most certainly waiting for PSU and Texas. I wouldn't want to grind my teeth in a no win situation like Syracuse to get there.

I thought they have a ham sandwich with a headset now unless I missed something when watching the Cow Pasture U games.

I think Rhule is the psu coach in waiting.
I really think you are right on this.....Especially if he continues to be working right under their noses while St Penn continues to struggle w/ the most basic of fundamentals regarding running a football team on gameday.
The downside is that Ruhle would make them a very scary program, the guy can motivate, coach, recognize talent & then get it to play well on Saturday's.
He is not so easy to dislike as Franklin or JoePa. I actually like the guy & how he carries himself on the sideline. But I am sure the obnoxious St Penn fan's & my dislike for all things Nittany would trump anything Ruhle did before he became their coach.

H2 PITT & JC !!!

Yes, as much as we'd like to see more 55-16 beatdowns like the one MSU laid on them, it would only shorten his tenure there. Kinda have to root for 7-8 wins every year to keep him barely employed at PSU.

A contract for any period of time is no guarantee a coach will stay. The amount of the buyout is the key. What is Ruhle’s buyout?

I try to be fair, it is tragic it happen, and Penn state has paid the price for it and did more to Reform to make sure it won't happen again. No Coach will be above the University again, at the same time, Paterno was Great Football Coach and earned his wins, but made some mistakes that costs him a legacy.

At the same time, what was going on in PAOAG annd Judges was beyond the law, and deserves review and some convictions need overturned and many have to resign and some charged.

The full truth needs to come out, not just drip and drabs and no big should be protected. This is what many PSU Fans want too, and they are not wrong on that goal.

The University really can't move on until this happens and I always recognize the realities of the strong Penn State Football Program built by Paterno, and the reforms have it in full compliance for his sin of staying too long, out of touch, confused, and being sick near the end.

Sometimes what we love and please us the most can hurt all of us the most somehow. He lived for the game and did not know how to let go or what to do without it. It caught up to his love and later confusion on what to do and when to do it!

What is going on with AG Kane, Fina, and Judges needs to be exposed and fully disclosed and no one is above the laws.

The Program will remain strong too, but may need some new people later!

If the Nitters are unhappy ( they are ) with Frankie Football ( the talking coach) why wouldn't they grab Ruhle now before he leaves the Owls nest and some other U hires him and he gets settled and comfortable at that place.
It looks like they'll be Christmas shopping for a new coach based on Frankie Footballs ( the talking coach) performance.
Agreed lots of money at stake but the Nitter football gods really screwed up hiring Frankie Football ( the talking coach).
As far as I'm concerned Frankie Football ( the talking coach ) please stay since you're the best show in town!

That's great. But just like Rhule or Tom Herman, those extensions are only as good as next season (or next week in some cases). Just trying to put in perspective. It symbolic moreso than ironclad.

Theh have delayed the stadium talk. The mayor-elect has some issues with it so they are slowing that process down.

Actually, the issue that the mayor-elect has raised is that the root of Temple's desire to construct its own stadium is the exorbitant fees (scheduled to escalate further) that the Eagles charge Temple for the use of Lincoln Financial Field, in comparison to the much more favorable arrangement between the Steelers and Pitt for the use of Heinz Field. After all, the proviso under which the state committed funding toward the construction of both stadia is was that the pro teams would enter into partnerships with the local state-related universities for the use of the stadia. Finally, a local politician has had the balls to call the Eagles out for failing to live up to that bargain.

Franklin is coming upon some watersheds. Soon, his agent will clamor for an extension so he can assure recruits and their parents he will be there for the duration.
PSU already overpaid for the guy, but now the stakes will be raised.
My guess is that PSU extends by two years...
Funny isn't it? PSU isn't worried about someone chasing their coach, they are worried that circumstances will force Franklin upon them. Therr is legit cause for concern in Centre Appalachia County.
