McGowens

That's a good point. He was the first player in the history of basketball to clank two free throws.

Also, since Champagnie clanked two foul shots shortly before McGowens did he's probably leaving as well.

Wait, that if Champagnie clanked his two foul shots shortly before McGowens then that means that McGowens WASN'T the first player in the history of basketball to clank two free throws. He was the second.

you believe what you want, I'll make my own observations. That's what this board is for. 70-30 chance.

Absolutely, believe what you want. I'm just pointing out that believing that someone missing two foul shots is evidence that they are leaving is silly. There could be a 100% chance he's leaving and he could have made those shots, or a 100% chance he's staying and he missed them. Two missed foul shots aren't evidence of anything.

Just like they weren't evidence of anything when Champagnie missed his two shots.

After watching the game, I put the odds at 70% McGowans leaves. Just a hunch really, if he was dialed in he wouldn't have clanked those two free throws at the end. Something off with his game, plus maybe homesick a bit? SC a pretty good distance from here. The Capel comments on Horton also. Plus his family made comments after fans were critical of him during slump beginning against Clemson last year. A change of scenery may be the best thing for him, like Marcus Carr.

I doubt Johnson, Toney or Champaigne leaves.

I wouldn't pat yourself on the back too hard since this isn't really a bold prediction when you analyze things a little closely the past few weeks. Many could come to this conclusion, you were the most vocal about it.

Missed free throws = transfer. Now I've heard it all! Everyone missed foul shots on Saturday lol. I think Hamilton and Penny both missed 2 consecutive shots late in the second half to doom us. Is Penny also transferring?

Penny? how did i miss this nickname? is this the official nickname for him on the lair?

I wouldn’t be surprised by any transfers, except Champagnie and Toney. My only hope is that they don’t lose both Trey and X (assuming Champagnie and Toney stay), but that seems unlikely. Of everyone on the team, Trey seems most likely to go imo

Since you don’t have to sit out a year, would you rather play for a rebuilding Pitt team Or a team like Villanova or Butler? I fear that we are going to lose multiple starters.
Those guys knew what they were getting into when they signed with Pitt. If they like and trust Capel they won’t transfer just to go to a better team. Maybe when they graduate, but doubtful they’d do it before.

Some have mentioned it as well in the past but I think there is team chemistry issues.

I think, just a hunch, that McGowens is unhappy and part of the chemistry issue. Pitt was also once a leader for his brother and that changed over time...could it just be that his brother truly wanted to pave his own path? Sure, but I think there is more to that than what is out there...if Trey was that happy and believed Pitt was the place for his brother, where they could each suceed, wouldn't there have been more or stronger consideration from Bryce towards Pitt??? Interest did not seem that strong. Nothing to go on, just a thought.
