Merits of Clubs Seats?

I just saw in another thread that someone sold 4 club seats at 20 yard line for WVU game for $1,000 total, and that was face value. That shocked me because I have 2 season tickets in the lower bowl at about the 45 yard line that cost much less than $1,000 for the whole year.

Made me curious, what do you get for that extra money in club seats?

I can afford the price tag for club seats if it will improve my gameday experience. Just never though much about it as I have pretty good seats and have had them for a while. I know there is an inside area you can go for rain, but is that the main benefit? What else do I get?

I have had both. The Club is great for bad weather games but personally I like my current seats 8 rows back on the 47 better.

Bar with decent options, clean bathrooms, improved food options, ac in the warm months, heat in the cool months, cover from rain/snow. When we had younger kids we moved to club and it was great to be able to take them inside to run around when the heat/cold got to them. Good sight lines on the sidelines.

how is the wait in the food line? especially on fuller games?

When there is 35,000+ actually there (not the fake numbers), it is basically impossible to get concessions. will cost you an entire quarter in line. for real. if i had access to normal concession wait times, that would be a perk. so i am going to pay more money for a seat that allows me to spend more money on concessions...hmm...

if you go at halftime you might wait 10 mins in line. Most games you might be 2-3 deep during the game. Longer lines are the build your own ice cream sundae bar and the plastic moonshine jars for mixed drinks. (East club, can’t speak for west)

Much less yinzers bitching about every play call , too

All this . Worth enough to put up with people to the likes of Souf ...(Pharm)

The seats are wider and there is more leg room. My favorite part is a lot of the seats are under cover. Other than that, I don't think club seats are worth the price difference.

I love it. Most seats under cover. Indoor area has ac and heat for relief. Bathrooms and concessions 10xs better. I enjoy it but everyone is different.
Yeah the North is fully covered and the glass allows you to watch the game from indoors. The other Clubs have to watch on TV.

I have been in the clubs a few times. I have enjoyed the creature comforts as many have described particularly in the rain. The UNC last year when it rained so hard at the end, for example. I was dam glad I had been given Club seats for that game! But it is a little sterile compared to sitting among the little people. The foo foo crowd in the clubs are pretty sedate, even more than they can be in the general crowd. That said if I was given the choice between my regular tix and the club at no difference in cost, I don’t think I’d have to think too long about switching.

You can get a burger cooked four hours before you buy it, an order of cold soggy fries, and a 16 oz beer for about $40.00. What I never understood is that even on the most perfect of football weather days, the huge number of fans who paid for the club seats, but spend the entire day inside watching the game on TV.

That was why we switched from the East Club to the North...wife was always indoors to stay cool or get warm, and you couldn't see the action except on TV.

We moved to the North that has 2 rows under a roof and the 3rd row behind the glass overlooking the field, with high-top table and chairs.

Didn't care for the end zone view so we moved to the sideline but I do miss the creature comforts of the North Club. And if you had to go to the bathroom it only takes a few min and if you're late returning you can still see the next play from behind the glass. I also liked the TVs hanging from the roof every 5-10 ft.

shorter aisles such that there are fewer douches who do not understand the concept of football having 30 seconds between plays and many, many play stoppages such that they do not have to obstruct your view of the game by getting up during plays....had access to 48 yard line seats halfway up (aka what you would think near perfect) the lower level for years and hated them.

Have long advocated for a "justifiable immediate execution" clause to the US Constitutions to eliminate these folks along with those who leave their shopping carts unattended in parking lots. I have yet to hear back from my senator as to whether he might sponsor. Fetterman looks crazy enough when stoned to do so so maybe I still might have hope..

Club seats are nice if you have to go with someone who isn't necessarily interested in the football game. They can go back and sit inside if the weather gets uncomfortable. If you're there for the game, lower bowl is better.
Had lower bowl in 111 for many years before first moving to north club -our primary reason for moving was the miserable group of yinzers who screamed at the coaches and team every game . It seriously sucked the fun out of every game , and we were flying or driving from chapel hill,nc for games

and now joining our friends in the East club since my son(10) is more likely to go to hang with their kids .

if you have a conflict it’s also very much easier to resell or give away tix

Understandable. I did sit near some similarly annoying fans in the club but they were definitely more reserved. More like passively complaining about things that didn't even make sense but generally, the club is more "civilized" for Pitt games.

This is generally on point. I’ve seen people playing cards in the Club during games, for example. But I’ve also seen women knitting in my lower bowl seats during games as well.

Maybe the insults are true that we just don’t have a particularly engaged fanbase😄

The East and West Club seats generally have the best sight lines to watch the game. That’s the main reason I get them. Also easier access to bathrooms, a little better food (maybe). It is nice to go inside at halftime on inclement weather days, but I still like sitting outside for the game. Was in North club for a while but didn’t like it as much.

You paid for the whole seat, but you won't even need the edge!

Always had club seats. Wouldn’t sit anywhere else, when I lived up north.
Now it’s all tv for me, except for a road trip to UNC Chapel Hill.

I've had people say to me about club seats before, "I can go inside and watch the game on television". And I always think the same thing. Well sure, you CAN, but why on earth would you WANT to? If you want to watch the game on television, stay home and watch the game on television. Cheaper, less hassle getting to and from the games, shorter line at the bathroom, etc.

We must be a couple of those increasingly rare people who go to the games to actually, you know, watch the games.

I love them. Especially with kids and older folks- much easier to get to and from seats, covered from weather , awesome sight lines , cushioned seats , can just go inside if too cold or too hot ( again - perfect for older folks and younger children ) and nice lounge areas to enjoy a beer before and after the game.

we also love being closer to the student section., but not in the student section!

I prefer the regular lower bowl seats, especially considering the huge price difference, for most games unless weather is bad.

My approach has been to buy regular lower bowl season tickets and then just look for club seats as needed via stubhub or on here. Unless it’s a WVU/ND/PSU type game you can generally find club seats for face value or less and avoid the extra charge incurred for seat license/donation.

The Club is nice but I just don’t like it that much better to justify 3-4x cost of my 20-30 yd line seats in lower bowl.
