Sitting Johnson for the last 14 minutes is move that will either pay off or send him into a bigger slump than he has been in already.Misery is over....another missed opportunity against a crap team...here comes the losing streak now

He should be ignored until he stops airballing shots regularlyStill in shock that I just saw Trey BLATANTLY ignore a SCREAMING Murphy who was wide open at the 3 point line..with a chance to completely change the game...WTF???
Play the walk on he can’t be worse..at least he plays under control...X is a basket caseSitting Johnson for the last 14 minutes is move that will either pay off or send him into a bigger slump than he has been in already.
He was our entire offenseTrey did a pretty good X impression at the end.
Did you see Miami move the ball and get layups. That is what offense looks like.He was our entire offense
Don’t be silly
Even through he was struggling today- might have gone back to X when Lykes fouled out.
At the end of the season, I'd tell Johnson to transfer or see what you can do professionally. Some games he shows up, and some games he dosen't. Good job by Capel to sit him the last 14 minutes of the game. You can call him selfish or whatever, but when he turned the ball over two times in the first three possessions I knew it would be one of those days when Xavier is only about himself and not for his team. If we land a recruit or grad transfer in the offseason, I'd force Johnson to leave if I'm Capel.
Brown had a nice game today but its been forever since we've had a Center as good as that scrub Waardenburg
Defense late was not what we needed. I did not see great pressure on the ball, and yet we gave up layup after layup.Very disappointing.
13 more FGA
3 more points at free throw line
5 less turnovers
Yet we lost.
Looked like nothing left in tank after we pulled close
Sticking with the zone was a mistakeDefense late was not what we needed. I did not see great pressure on the ball, and yet we gave up layup after layup.
How is that possible?
Who is going to play the PG position for 40 minutes next year considering we don’t have anyone coming in as of now?At the end of the season, I'd tell Johnson to transfer or see what you can do professionally. As of now, we're stuck with him, but once Capel gets a grad transfer/recruit I'd focus on him more than Xavier.Who is going to play the PG position for 40 minutes next year considering we don’t have anyone coming in as of now?
Seemed we were satisfied to get it close. Evidently thought we could win playing "normal" ga,me with Lykes out. Should have really exerted ball pressure and gone for the kill shot.Sticking with the zone was a mistake
Just not enough bounce to get stops defensively. Trey looked exhausted down the stretch. As much as I would’ve hated it it might not of been a bad idea to put X back in the game just to create some energy and take the pressure off of Trey to create every posessionDefense late was not what we needed. You are probably right.Just not enough bounce to get stops defensively. Trey looked exhausted down the stretch. As much as I would’ve hated it it might not of been a bad idea to put X back in the game just to create some energy and take the pressure off of Trey to create every posession

No doubt on that. But down the stretch when we were gassed and needed that extra something, it might been the perfect opportunity to see if, in fact, X learned his lesson after sitting for 10 minutes to that pointX can’t be put back in.
that would undermine the message
Then you need to play the walk on a minute, minute and a half, to give Trey a breather.Nope, if your teaching/sending a message, you don’t let up in that no matter what happens in the game. It’s all part of it, and it applies across all sports.

How about tired McGowen versus rested McGowen in last 2 minutes?Tired McGowens is much better than full strength Ezeakudo.
How about tired McGowen versus rested McGowen in last 2 minutes?
Not contesting your last sentence for an instant. That's assuming that resting for a minute or two makes a significant difference in his level of "tiredness". Which is a very large assumption.
Meanwhile, the one thing we know for a fact is that McGowens is a much, much better basketball player than Ezeakudo.
