Will Jamie be able to keep pace with the Duzz?

Pitt is in the middle of the ACC in attendance, and closer to the top tier than some realize. Also, 3rd in nation of schools in a city housing an NFL team, behind only GT and Wash, both in cities bigger than Pittsburgh. Our attendance isn't as bad as the media and opponents make it out to be. Sure it could be better, and needs to be, but I'll bet that it will continue to increase with the PR and interest this team and the recruiting are giving the program. Maybe some of the locals will consider that, and want to be part of getting Pitt to the next level and seeing a big attendance bump. With both having offers from big schools like Wisconsin and Michigan State, it's very apparent that attendance was not an important factor in their decision... Too bad some local kids don't see it that way...
On a more positive note: I could not be happier with what has gone on in the football program. Starting with the new chancellor's committment to football, throw in the hiring of Coach Pat and staff, and then add the buzz associated with recruiting both locally and out of state and suddenly we have serious momentum built up to carry this program back to, dare I say, early 1980's level. Of course, that will take some time, but, having been a fan since around the time of TD Tony, and during my years of attending Pitt in the mid 80's, I can finally say with some confidence, that those days of mediocrity are about to end and that the right people have been put in place to bring us back to prominence! Not a chance. Jamie loses just about every recruiting battle he engages in, unless it is for a Plan C or D guy or a grad transfer. I think he lost his way here, after all the momentum we had as a hoops program. Now, we can barely get players from high school to come and play 4 years like it was, when the program was being built!

Yep.
And I'll stand by it.
Big departure from Chris James, Russell Shell, Ray Graham, Chris Burns- all recent 4-star RB commits.
Talent level hasn't been Pitt's primary problem.
Chris James a 4 star RB who wasn't local from B10 country, Illinois. We just recruited a 4-star stud away from Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wisconsin... among others.
Speaking of Wisconsin.... Chryst and 2 of his staff visited with Hill this week. Result? Hill rejected them to come to Pitt.
This is a better non-local recruit than Chryst ever landed. Yes, Chryst landed Boyd, Johnson, Holtz. All local.
But to go into the heart of Big Ten country and steal a guy from OSU, MSU, Nebraska, and Wisky.... that's something Chryst NEVER accomplished here in three years.
If you don't think this is big news, you're being intentionally contrarian and intellectually dishonest. But that's your M.O., unfortunately.

Kevin Collier...
I'm hopeful he's a better coach.Souf wants to say Pitt doesn't have a better program with Narduzzi than with Chryst... let him go... he is nuts.
In wins alone we are better now recruiting is better too... facilities? Better ... AD?? Better... you get the picture
I went 2 of Chryst last recruits in hall and James .Concerning Chris James: Ok, I'll give you that one. But he was the 14th best player in Illinois - a state light in talent compared to Ohio, where Hill is the 7th best player.
Concerning Graham: Nobody said Wanny couldn't recruit. And he got Graham out of NJ when we were in the Big East. It wasn't out of the heart of Big Ten, or even ACC, country.
Concerning Kevin Collier: The fact that you had to go back to 2006 to a player we recruited away from Syracuse. Really? He was from upstate NY and narrowed it down to Syracuse and Pitt. That's hardly in the same class as Hill. And that was also a case of NOT being in the hotbed of power conference.
Agreed Hill is at sanders equal imoReally big week recruiting for Pitt! Looks to be some pretty good players
Congrats

Souf come on... Shell. ? Seriously? I've agreed from time to time but I'm wondering truly if you are a misanthrope ?
Talent level hasn't been Pitt's primary problem.
Small sample size and the opponents weren't that good I know, but I think there's something to be said about taking a team without the ACC player of the year, getting ranked during the season, and going 8-4 in his first year, winning every conference road game in the process.not sure if Duzz can coach but who cares Hail to Pitt
Agreed Hill is at sanders equal imo
Hill will be on both sides like the other super star !Hill is coming to play defense.
Hill will be on both sides like the other super star !
If he plays well on offense early.. Who knows ..Even so you are looking at max 30-40 touches on offense in a year.
