How is that determined? Using Jeff Sagarin's rationale? Who made his opinion any different then yours or mine? I guess you believe that ESPN's analytics are accurate as well. Using a teams W-L record against when they are playing different teams makes no sense? You might as well just use those useless polls that come out each week.

I guess the millions of people who have used his work and research for the past 40 years, as well as the consensus of college athletics administrators that have chosen to consider his ratings into ranking decisions for the BCS, Playoff Selection Committee, and March Madness Selection Committee.

His affiliations with the BCS Playoff Selection Committee and March Madness Selection Committee mean NOTHING! He is the Mel Kiper, Jr. of college football. Both programs have had their moments in the sun, and both programs usually are down more than they are up. They are probably both about the same on the local apathy scale, as well.
