My estimate of the crowd ...

I don’t think the administration cares to be fair!

some believe the ACC would not kick Pitt out of the conference; I dont believe that. And if it were to happen it would be because of lack of fan support in the two major sports.

But yeah the administration doesn't seem to place much emphasis on sports so I agree that they wouldn't care either.

No - BC and WF aren’t any good either.

If I wasn’t hoping for a pitt win this game is just unwatchable . Two really bad teams . Really sad to see . Program can’t really sink any further .
Why aren’t they running double screens for Stewart ? I guess passing the ball around the perimeter is their offensive strategy .

were you there tonight? Do you ever attend? yeah I thought so.

Disagree....the administration cares because the ACC money pays the bills.

Notice that nowhere in this comment were the words commitment......to......winning.....

We counted:

75 people in section 121
61 in section 120
&
48 in section 109

I think the people in Pittsburgh and the suburbs don't really care if Pitt has Division 1 football and basketball.

Well certainly true in hoops when the team is as awful as this one. Not so much in football. Burghers only provide big support to big winners--but do support such--Witness the full Pete when the hoops team was top 5-top 10. They will again if/when we get back there.

The crowd size at the Pete is directly related to the quality of the product on the floor. Great team, great crowd. Terrible team, terrible crowd. Public is not there to watch college basketball because they like college basketball in general. They are there to watch Pitt compete with the best and not there when Pitt isn't competitive with the best.

I'm not sure where they get the announced crowd numbers. 2240 people would have been 1 of 6 seats occupied. From the shots on tv, it was less than 1 of 10 seats.

I doubt there was anyone in the upper deck so it would be 1 out of every 3-4 in the lower bowl. From watching it on TV, 800-900 seems right, probably lower than most WPIAL girls' playoff games

Constant underachievement, disappointment and boredom will do that to a fan base. The atmosphere at most football games is similar to a late September Pirates game when they are 30 games out.

764. I counted as I walked around and shook hands with each person.

I may have missed a few if they were in the restroom or buying Dip n Dots.

And people wonder why a bunch of the local, homegrown blue chips go up to State College and down to Morgantown

Where are all the fans who wanted Jamie gone.

They should be attending the games in support of the new coach.

Where are you.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

Why can't we agree that:

a. the program was on the decline under Dixon. High school recruiting had hid a wall and we had become transfer U.

AND

b. Stallings has been an absolute disaster. He never had the fan support, whiffed on his recruiting, has been blown out in virtually all ACC games and hasn't developed the freshman.

A change was needed. Unfortunately Barnes butchered it.

Because a change of head coach was absolutely not needed. It was epically stupid, and so are the people that still think one was necessary.
