Are you saying that the defense played well? In not sure you are serious. They had guys open all day and no pass rush. The defense is not good
Absolutely got some great stops when it mattered.
But North Carolina's QB is pretty bad. Which is why he was 3rd team earlier this season.
Yeah. Honestly, they played pretty well considering their ability. They gave up 17 points. & had several timely stops. That's not bad.
The objective of a defense is to prevent points. Since when is 17 points by UNC an unacceptable number?
Next week very interesting if Cal knocks off Miami tonight which is not at all impossible

YEP...they had guys running in our secondary without a Pitt defender within 5 yards. Secondly, they won't be so boisterous about the defense only giving up 17 when someone lays 40 on us. NC's coaching staff are complete idiots - they could do whatever they wanted but continually outsmarted themselves.
Kudos to Narduzzi for overhauling his offensive staff. Bell and his staff are a breath of fresh air.
No one is saying the defense played great or is great. Sure they gave up a lot of yards but the goal is to prevent points
They held NC to 2 of 6 with a key forth down stop late in the game.
Not sure how the nc staff completely outsmarted themselves. You do realize they are playing with their Third string qb. It’s amazing they are playing as well as they are on offense with a kid who didn’t know the play book in the spring and wasn’t going to play
Pitt’s D has played well enough to be 5-0. Can they play better ? Sure But it’s amusing how people find shit to bitch about a team most thought would be lucky to win 3-4 games let along be 5-0.
But to each their own. I’m enjoying this run. Had a great time at the game yesterday on a beautiful fall afternoon
All of you follow college football, the game has changed since 1967, offenses score points , Vanderbilt put 40 on Alabama, Wake 34 on NCS, SMU 34 on LV, etc, 45% of the games each week have underdogs or +/- 1.5/or lower ranked teams putting mid 30's to 40's on someone. I don't know what else to say, it happens.
They were running the ball down our throats - it's easy...keep running the ball!
Pitt shut them down in the second half and controlled the clock they did run their star back on forth down and Pitt stopped him.
Pitt also controlled the clock in the fourth quarter on offense
Their star running back got 23 carrries and they passed for over 260 yards.
but for some of you guys Pitt never plays good it’s the other teams coaches who screwed up
Gave up 17 points and REAL close to being a net 10 points given up. That ball was starting to slip as the arm was coming forward on our almost defensive TD.
So no, not the strength of the team. But I’ll take that effort even if they bent a good bit
Exactly and the first time we beat UNC at Chapel Hill but I guess that doesn't matter to some nellies and trolls. One game at a time, 5-0 and feels great. H2P!!!!
That James Madison game created the perception that the whole team was trash. But they have some talent and a good offense.
We are 5-0 with room to grow. There are very few, if any, that thought we’d be in this position right now. It’s all good.

It is amazing that we are not even half way through the season, and at this point 7-8 wins would be disappointing.
Came back when they give up 40. Complaining about a defense that gave up 17 points is foolishness.
