The Notre Dame agreement is a great plus for the ACC. TV, attendance, revenue, media coverage, etc. all increase.

The NCAA doesn't recognize or sanction national championships at the highest level of college football. It never has. All it has done is list national champions named by "major selectors", so deemed by a couple college football historians, in its Official College Football Records Book. Its Records Book lists 22 separate season in which major selections have named Notre Dame a national champion, of which Notre Dame acclaims 11. The NCAA records 11 for Pitt. Pitt claims 9 national championship seasons.
