ND plays 6 ACC teams this year

They only played 4 last year so they added the 6th game this year to make up for it. ND tried to buy out of their trip to play Arizona State so they could play a 5th ACC game last year but Graham wouldn't let them out of the deal. FWIW, Arizona State's "road game" at ND as part of that deal was played in Arlington, Texas as part of the "Shamrock Series" so it wasn't a true road game. Partly because of that, ND thought they could get out of going to Tempe.

This is not true. It was our former AD Steve Patterson who would not let them back out. ASU and Notre Dame had a 3 game series that was agreed to. 1 game in Arlington, 1 game in Tempe, and 1 game in South Bend. Notre Dame wanted to cancel the home and home, ASU let them out of the game in South Bend as it wasnt scheduled til 2017 but absolutely would not let ND out of the 2014 game a year before it was scheduled to be played. ASU already got burned once like that and had to scramble to find what ended up being an fcs opponent which ended up costing them a bowl game that year because the fcs win didnt count towards eligibility.

"Gee, we'll gladly let you out of the game WE have to travel to, but, you coming here? Absolutely no way we're letting you out of that!!!" Fraud is a perfect fit there.

I wouldn't have let them out either. I can't bang on ASU for doing what they did. If we had a glamour team coming in ooc, and they tried to cancel late, this board would be on fire.

Dear ASU fan. Please ignore the troll calling himself or herself seanmillerfan. Never stops writing BS. Wrong 99% of time and lets world know when some of his manure turns outright. By making up lies about your coach he thinks he will get in good with some Pitt fans but he is too dumb to know that most Pitt fans have turned the page since we think we have a top coach now.

For what it's worth.

This guy has the story straight.

Among other notables this year.

This will be the first year in about a century there isn't a single B1G opponent on the schedule.
Will be ND's first visit to Clemson since 1977
GTech will play at ND for the first time since 2007, in which they handed ND a 33-3 loss which was the first loss in a season that ND went 3-9, one of their worst in modern history. Their only wins were UCLA, Duke, and Stanford (in Jim Harbaugh's first year there).
Will be the first meeting between ND and UMass.
Will only be the second meeting against Temple. And the first time ND will play in Lincoln Financial Field (they will meet PITT the following week at Heinz Field).
And will play Boston College at Fenway Stadium in Boston, 2 weeks after PITT.

Actually pretty excited for this season's schedule. The only huge negative is the selection of the BYE week. ND only has 1 this year, and it comes after 6 straight games, and the week after the USC game. Would have much preferred it the week before USC. For obvious reasons.
