This was discussed below, but I wanted to draw everyone's attention to it:

Rivals.com will be releasing new message boards on Monday, April 20.

You can see what the new board looks like and how it works on the Rivals.com Main Board, where the new format has been active since Wednesday. Overall, this is a considerable upgrade from what we have been using for quite some time.

That said, this will be a change, and I know that it might take a little getting used to. I highly recommend that you check out this "How-To" post; it explains a whole lot about how the new boards work and what you can do on the new boards. I will pin that post here on the board so you can reference it; it definitely comes in handy.

The first change is that the new boards are all Topic View. That will take some getting used to, so the boards overall will be much more functional, and they will be the same no matter what device you are using - computer, phone, tablet - to access them.

These changes were long overdue, and I think they will be for the better. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for reading Panther-Lair.com.

Chris, I use thread view all the time. When I post something or reply to something I can go back later and immediately find the thread and my post and click on any replies to my post in a matter of seconds. In topic view how do I find replies to my posts without scrolling the entire topic. It is also nice to see the entire thread and click on selected replies without scrolling the entire topic. It seems to me that taking the choice between topic and thread away is regressive and not necessary.

Truthfully, the board does need to be updated. It does seem dated versus other sites.

Good to see.

I clicked on "how to post" and got a pop up screen that cannot be removed. So how does one learn how to post if you cannot read the directions?

Myself, I am glad thread view is being eliminated. People who use it assume others do as well and craft their replies in a way that assume people know who they are replying to. Many of us don't.

It's going away and good riddance.

Yeah, it's just great.....

when someone posts in topic view and decides that to make sure everyone knows what they are responding to feels the need to copy a full 20 paragraph, 2000 word post just so they can reply with "+1". And then another poster does the same so they can reply with "I agree". Nothing better than having to wade through the same thing repeated over and over and over again because people using topic view can't figure out how to reply to the person they are actually responding to without having to recopy the whole thread up until that point.
