No, not the Vuk wrong again thing (do we really need to point out something that is so common?), just that it was looking like Pitt was hiring Verdi.

The new coach overlapped with AD Lyke at EMU. I also like that he took horrible programs and made them better over time. Hopefully he can do it again.

The first half of those are about the range of Vuk’s winning percentage.
The ACC is a very tough league. ESPN final women's poll had ACC teams ranked as follows--
#4 Va Tech
#11 N. Dame
#14 Louisville
#16 Duke
#18 Miami
#21 UNC
Others receiving votes included NC State.
New coach will to recruit at an extremely high level to become ACC competitive.
I'll say this, Verdi certainly can talk the talk:

Vuk reminds me of BballinsiderfromPitt. Has some sources and is right once in awhile but wrong more often. They are like the National Enquirer. Entertaining though.

He is literally wrong about things more often than anyone else on this board.
Day Harris, Amber Brown, Emy Hayford, Destiny Strother, Taisha Exanor, Sandrine Clesca and Cynthia Ezeja all entered the transfer portal.
There should be more than four left if that is all who entered the portal. So maybe a few of Marley Washenitz, Avery Strickland, Liatu King, Aislin Malcolm, Gabby Hutcherson and Maliyah Johnson have also entered.

for 20 years. FGCU has a
large Bball following here.
The women's program is
VERY successful and is
the class of its conference.
The reason obviously is
Coach Smesko. As others
on here have pointed out,
he's turned down quite a
few offers at larger programs.
I don't know anything about
Pitt's negotiations with him,
but I wouldnt be surprised
if he turned down Pitt. I was
hoping we'd get him, but
once again, he apparently
is staying put.
The truth is, he's basically
worshipped here. He's more
than once stated that he
loves the area (how could
you not! LOL). I'm sure he
will continue with the FGCU
championships. NCAAT wins
will be hard to get given that
he can only recruit so high
given the conference level
they're in.
With all that said, good luck
to Coach Verdi, and hppefully
he turns Pitt competely

Per Dominic Campbell the returning players:
Rising Senior forward Gabby Hutcherson, junior forward Liatu King, sophomore guards Marley Washenitz and Aislin Malcom. Sophomore guard Avery Strickland is potentially coming back as well
Nothing said yet about who he brings with him
I would hope that Maliyah
Johnson returns. If she does,
there is at least a nucleus
of returning guards and
forwards. Obviously a big,
preferably two are needed.
Strickland entered the portal, but said in her announcement that she’d consider returning to Pitt.
That's a loss. I felt she
was one of our better
players and was a legit
3 point shooter. IMO she
had a bright future ahead
of her.
