Next year 2 deep.....guesses

I was thinking this, a 3rd down Dave meggett type back. You lose a lot with pass protection but maybe get him out as a dump off on a 3rd and long with only a backer covering him.

It makes sense, which is why it won’t happen. 4 jet sweeps all year is about right.

Not exactly. Carter was the scout team RB. He reminds me a little of Dion Lewis. I'd give him the opportunity to win the starting RB job but design a game plan where he gets about 10-15 traditional rushes with the other RB getting the rest. I'd also use Carter with passes out of the backfield, jets, lining up in the slot, etc. But, instead he will be wasted just like Henderson last year.

Very interested to see what the running back position looks like next year. Very interested to see if we end up with more graduate transfers not just for tight end but for quarterback to compete for the #1 spot even. Pretty concerned about a possible big step back with all those linemen and backs graduating. Also don't want to see a trend of pre-snap penalties just being "our thing" as some younger guys step up.

Statistically speaking the defense took a small step back this year, but I don't think that was exactly the reality. There was a tough schedule with a lot of uptempo teams and they played pretty well against our divisional opponents. I have a good amount of optimism there.

And special teams if anything should be slightly improved as our kicker and punter can gain more experience and consistency.

I think it’s highly likely that they bring in a transfer for OL. I don’t see it at RB or QB

At RB they have Salahuddin Davis Sibley and the true frosh At Qb the other poster nailed it. It will be Pickett Patti and the true frosh. They have George and the other kids as insurance policies

I too am optimistic about the D. I think it will take another step forward next year

I like Carter better as a hybrid RB as well. I like Shocky or Ffrench in the Lopes role.

Also, I think Medure will play the Aston role along with potentially that incoming FB and an RB like Sibley.

This would be too creative for Watson but I'd use Carter as a Reggie Bush/Christian McCaffrey type back. In other words, not a 25 carry per game guy, but lots of swing passes, screens, and wheel routes. But instead, we will see Carter run 4 jets per game and nothing else
Woa
Bush and McC are two of the best college FB players I’ve ever seen. Yeah I’d use what’s his name like them......

I’d use Kenny like Roger Staubach too.

Millin - 2nd Team All-ACC and our best OL.
Herndon and Morrisey - 3rd Team All-ACC

Borberly is a better coach than Peterson. Where is Peterson coaching?
Yes, and its not even close. In the spring, PN said his OL were further along than the OL at the end of 2017, which included O-Neill and Officer, and he specifically credited Borberly for the progress. What Borbs was able to get out of patched together group this year was fairly amazing.
Both Borbs and PN talked about the development that was taking place with the younger guys while the older group was primed for the season.

Pound for pound, the younger guys are more physically gifted and better coached at their age than this year's starters were when they were that age, and I don't think its all the close either.

I think RB is truly wide open. Some have given up on AJ Davis, but I haven't at all. He's still developing. Look at both Ollison and Hall; they became very solid RBs in their last year, better than in earlier years. Davis may need to shed a few pounds, as Ollison did to gain some extra quickness. Davis could break out next year. I'm not predicting it, but don't be surprised if it happens.
