the way that Pitt had been getting from the 5 position for the past 13 years. Be it McCarroll, Morris, McGee, Troutman, Lett, Blair, etc. His energy was outstanding as he would force the offensive player to retreat from setting up the FSU offfense & then sprint back to get into his defensive position under the basket. We finally had that aggressive swagger where each player seemed to jump, help, switch players thus confusing the FSU offense. While it was not great D it was at least a reminder of what it once was at Pitt....Not all the time is it just height that is needed at the 5 position...As long as we have someone that can aggressively hustle, knows what his responsibilities are & just constantly be blocking the lanes, bumping the cutters coming thru the middle, etc. it will go a long way toward getting us back on track.
Nwankwo's energy & experience from having watched countless past Panthers fill that role on D as the Hedger asked to disrupt the opposing team's offense was crucial to allowing the Panthers to find their mojo,,,if only for a little while last night. It will be something to continue working on...also will give us another option & high energy sub coming off the bench.
He was the Panthers version of D. Rodman....Great game young man could not be happier for ya....His offense was all generated from the D side of the ball, hustle & running the floor.

Hail to PITT !!!
