Don't follow too much with many coaches but I heard Applewhite is with Miami? Fedora the only coach I haven't seen picked up yet. But is there others out there needing a job or any coaches with connections night be looking?

Or maybe give Powell? A glance or least an interview? I've always had a liking of Powell. But not sure if he will bring the changes we need in an offense.

The 2 obvious ones the board mentioned are Canada and Fedora.

God no on powell............Need someone who will help change the perception of the program from an offensive perspective

Huh? Look what he did w/ Ollison. Everybody said he was done after his sophomore season. He has those boys running *hard* and thru the holes - no dancing. You know how hard it is to get that across nowadays?

And he garners respect from the players. You notice on the sidelines - Aston,Hall,Ollison always came up to him when coming off to get instructions.

That was my only downfall thinking as well, would keep the same type offense and just run probably doesn't help passing game out at all which is what we need.... just not sure if anyone had any different insight or details about him.

Would you be open to Canada coming back?

I don’t know if Pitt OC would be enough to get Zach Azzanni back to CFB, but I’d love it if they offered. He’s coached some good receivers, has some OC experience and is highly regarded as a recruiter. I wanted him when Duzz hires Canada.

But since his own job probably depends on the hire I would think that Duzz hires someone “safer” who has more time calling plays at the college level.

Powell is a good RB/ST coach. I would prefer keeping him there.

Best position coach we have. He is a teacher and a good recruiter... Pay the man more money...

2 morons on the fan the crook and blow show, totally came against against the firing of Watson, blaming Narduzzi for this team, but did not condem tomlins firing of porter and they stated that there are more to come did not put tomlin downor jimmy Frank's firing of his coach. Did not put frankly down, They just blasted Duzz

Of course they did. They do not like Pitt.

Yet you conveniently forgot to mention that Cook blasted Franklin for a "truly dissapointing season" while complimenting PN for winning the Coastal.

Depends on if you want experience. Maybe try to get Denbrock from Cinci for $550k+, Tony Alford (who OSU just passed over for OC) for $600k+, or Phil Longo from Ole Miss.

If you want to try and go young then Narduzzi could hit a home run with someone like Clemson QB coach Brandon Streeter, if he could get him for a year or two.

Also up-and-comers like Jeff Lebby, Graham Harrell, Darrin Chiaverini, or Joel Gordon should all be considered.

I wonder if Canada and Narduzi have any bridges between them that aren't burned?

I doubt it.

Nobody listens to that show, you should follow suit too. They try to bait people to call in by pissing them off. If they didn't, they wouldn't generate ad money and be out of a job in the dying medium that is talk radio.

Longo is at UNC now. I'd like a spread with some tempo, but not the air raid spread that Longo runs.

Mike Sanford Jr. surprisingly took the Utah State OC job last month. I'm shocked he didn't wait for a P5 job.

Kevin Johns is going to Memphis.

I'd like one of them or someone who runs the same run based spread with a better passing game.

Streeter would be a good hire.

Agree on Streeter, throw some money at him. He can recruit too and I like the chances of him bringing in a good QB. Likely to eventually lose him back to Clemson if their Co-OCs land better gigs, but I'd take that chance.

Edit: PA native too, Gettysburg High School. FWIW, Streeter's salary was $455k this year.

Someone:
Who is Young and aggressive
Who likes Pittsburgh and the area
Who could grow into a HC
Who would be able to replace Narduzzi one day if he ever was to leave
Who can recruit
Who has FL & TX connections
Who has been successful

That should be simple!

Kevin Wilson at Ohio State—IF he is not retained by new HC Ryan Day. Haven’t heard anything about who he might not keep.
Would be a great move if we ended up with him. Probably knows Narduzzi from his days as Indiana’s HC. No idea about his ability to recruit though.

Instead of looking at all these apread rpo OC's, why not be more realistic and see if some of the pro style offensive teams have young assistants ready to move up? Does Wisconsin have anybody? Stanford etc.

I'm not interested in Pitt going anywhere near a typical retread. I'd rather go with a young, hungry OC even if they come from a smaller school. I would love for them to have HC aspirations because you can make a jump from OC to HC coming from a school like Pitt. That would also mean incredible success for our offense.

Yeah, his dad was the head coach at the college until '17.

Streeter would be 2 years max before he's likely gone to a HC job.

The only team Fedora has proven he can beat is Pitt. Not sure how that helps this team. I wouldn’t call his offenses at unc anything special.

Ok, so we're just gonna throw names out here we wish Narduzzi would look at, not names that we actually think Narduzzi will target. I get it now thanks.

I'm stating reality, the "pro style" you're talking about will be a failure. It's time to move into this century like 90% of college teams and many NFL teams.

We can throw out all the names we want and it likely won't be anyone being talked up on this board. You're free to throw out your names too. Of the names I've seen, Streeter intrigues me the most. Even if its only 2 years.

It isn’t really lateral. There are three with the title of OC at MSU and Getsy doesn’t call plays

Then I'd be after him immediately. The Packers had lots of good things to say about him and the innovative aspects he brought into his coaching. He jumped from that ship knowing it was going down.
