was the Peterman keeper on 4th and 1.5. That was really the ballgame there. How do you not line up with Jaymar and Ollie and just somewhat had worked all night on these guys. Boy, the look on Duzzi's fave after that one.....

I think it was a 3rd down play and I'm not sure that was the call. Nate probably has the freedom to take it himself if he has the right look. Maybe he made the mistake?

Looled like the keeper was the call all
the way. Not even sure we had a RB behind Petey but of we did it was James without a lead back. Ollison was on the sideline and looking pretty unhappy about that. Pivotal play and we laid a big turd.

Cheney needs to realize that scoring is North and South not East and West. He gave up on the running game and the most effective runner(Olle) in the second Quarter.
You bring-up a good point. I know that some fans sitting near me were wondering whether Ollison had gotten banged-up, since he did a disappearing act.

I've said this before, but I think that Cheney would rather win by "tricking" -- rather than over-powering -- the other team, just to demonstrate his coaching prowess. So he tries to not call the obvious plays - but all-too-often, the "obvious" call is the better call - which is why it's considered to be the obvious call. (An example of something similar, but on a much larger scale, was Pete Carroll's botched play selection which lost the last Super Bowl game.)

Ollison wasn't hurt. He complained about not getting the ball in those situations And Chaney screamed at him. And he rode the pine the rest of the game.

Because fatso is more concerned about his ego than success.

Is this true? It didn't seem like Chaney and Narduzzi were on the same page last night, either.

Is that a fact or someone's speculation?

Either way, I think the Big Fella is in some real hot water with his boss today.

We had a coach like that last year who would not only run pitches and sweeps to the short side, but he would have a trips formation over there. I was the defensive coach and i asked him why he does that and his reply was "because we need blockers over there." I told him when you bring trips over to that side, you also rotate the defense over to that side so now you have more defenders over there and now our back has less space to run. Thank God he is no longer there!

Yeah nothing like running sweeps to the short side of the field;brilliant

Mind boggling to say the least.

Chaney needs to stop being such a cry baby and just put Ollison back in the game. THAT is why we lost. I don't care about him missing one block and you feeling the need to show everyone you're the one calling plays, we have a great chance of winning with Ollison in the game. Carolina's run defense is not good, the one weakness they have. Ollison was our best shot at beating them, and that third down not having him even just screams stupidity.

Man I've been saying the same thing for the past few weeks. Thursday night wasn't the first time Chaney called sweeps to the short side of the field. It's maddening...not to mention that Ollie was benched for some reason and James had more carries than him. Total nonsense.

In a night of many dubious plays - if I was voting for the worst, I'd consider any of the number of them that were run toward the short side of the field.

Chaney clearly loves plays run to the short side and hates plays to the other side.
You have to mix it up more than he does to keep the defense honest.
