Off Topic: Women's Volleyball sweeps UL

Why would Texas leapfrog us? Yes, they beat Baylor, but they didn't beat us.

In a week that the number two team lost twice, the number four team hammered the number one team. And you really can't understand why they'd leapfrog the number three team?

LSU was the number six team in the country in the preseason AP football poll. Three of the five teams that were ahead of them are still undefeated. And yet LSU is the number one team in the country this week. How do you suppose that happened?

The number 2 team team losing twice HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH 4 leap frogging 3. Nothing. Zilch. As relevant as scrambled eggs.
Comparing football votes to women's volleyball is an odd comparison: LSU best a 9, not a 1.
I know Texas beat Baylor...but I also know Pitt swept 6 straight sets on the road!
Have the Panthers even lost a set in ACC play?
When I saw them live in Miami a few weeks back they looked to be composed in tight matches. So maybe Texas leapfrogs them, but clue me in on why a number 2 Stanford losing twice has any impact on 4 leaping 3. Really I need help understanding that one.

It doesn't matter a lot, but it probably matters a little that people will be able to move us up while still having Texas move over us. That wouldn't have happened if Stanford hadn't lost.

But in any event, yeah, you clearly do need help understanding if you can't see why sweeping the number one team in the country is likely to be more highly valued by poll voters than beating two unranked teams.
