Oladapo to Pitt

Here’s his game log from this past season:

A lot of double-doubles in there, including several games with 15+ points and 15+ rebounds. Also a few games where he played a ton of minutes and and didn’t reach double digits in either category. I don’t know anything about him yet, but perhaps he was their only interior option and might’ve been “overused,” causing him to “force” things at times? Perhaps he can be more efficient in an off-the-bench role where he isn’t relied on to do everything?

There definitely seems like there’s some stuff to work with, though. Seems like a solid addition on paper.

He shot 53 and 56 % from 2 on decent volume. Terrell Brown was at 52.5 only one season out of 4 and under 43 other 3. More than double TB rebounds. So, can’t be awful, even if 7th or 8th in the rotation.

You can never have enough competent bigs. I’m a big fan of what Houston has done in recent years where, while they didn’t have a major standout, they would just throw 3-4 guys at you that can eat up minutes/fouls and make life difficult on the boards. With or without Reid, this is a decent start to building a functional rotation up front

Rebounding translates so I like his 9 RPG. Ideally, this would be a nice bench player but right now, he's our starting Center (yes, Center)

PG - Femi
SG - Horton
SF - Sibande
PF - Collier/Jeffress
C - Oladapo

Bench
Collier/Jeffress

A step in the right direction to fill out the roster, however, I am not sure what his production will be. Against Mich. St., Oklahoma St., Purdue, Bradley, Xavier and Michigan he averaged 23 minutes, 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 turnovers. Plus he only averaged 1.9 fouls per game over the whole season.

Now that definitely was a logical take

Definitely a PF.
Ideally Champ comes back and Oladapo can be a big off the bench.
Good effective shooting percentage and offensive rebounding percentage.

He can play 15-20 minutes as a back up PF or small ball C and crash the glass.
Things would have to break perfectly for Pitt in order to prevent this kid from starting.

He is coming in realitically expecting to start and play big minutes.

A whole lot of assuming in there
I guess I’m not sure of the point that you’re trying to make. What’s wrong with making an assumption?

Assuming Champagnie returns, Oladapo likely comes off the bench. Assuming he leaves, Oladapo likely starts.

Just trying to figure out how he’ll fit in the roster is all.

Even If Justin returns, who do you have starting at the other forward?

If Champagnie remains at PF, I’m guessing either Jeffress or a yet-to-commit transfer. I’ve also seen some on here list Sibande there with Horton filling in at SG, though I’m not sure I like that combination for a couple of reasons.

Perhaps Champagnie plays more SF and Oladapo starts at PF? What’re you thinking?
