If Justin comes back, Justin and Oladapo are the two starting forwards. If Champagnie remains at PF, I’m guessing either Jeffress or a yet-to-commit transfer. I’ve also seen some on here list Sibande there with Horton filling in at SG, though I’m not sure I like that combination for a couple of reasons.
Perhaps Champagnie plays more SF and Oladapo starts at PF? What’re you thinking?
Do you know if we are in on Aundre Hyatt? If you assume that Champagnie and/or Hugely won’t be back, Hyatt could start at SF and Oladapo would be at PF. If Champ returns, we’d have the makings of a pretty solid bench. Not sure of the other remaining options at the 3, though. If Justin comes back, Justin and Oladapo are the two starting forwards.
If Justin does not return, we need more of a scorer grad transfer to pair with Oladapo.
it would seem to me the longer the wait on Justin and Hugley, the slimmer the pickings That would remain.
We need to fill now as if they will not be back to maximize our talent. What we get after they would decide to leave would likely be merely deep depth options.
No clue if they’re “in”. And tentative certainly sticks out but saw this earlier.Do you know if we are in on Aundre Hyatt? Don’t know how much of a shot. Agree with what you posted above.Do you know if we are in on Aundre Hyatt? I may not remember this correctly but I thought we led for Hyatt up until he visited LSU, and that was a last minute thing. Hopefully we can add him, this would be solid.
Champ is too good and important of a rebounder to spend a lot of time on the wing, not to mention he doesn’t have much of a handle. They need some size and toughness. Any good minutes he can give will be welcome, and maybe he surprises us.
Agree with giving Champ more time as a 3.
Maybe some reason for optimism:I may not remember this correctly but I thought we led for Hyatt up until he visited LSU, and that was a last minute thing. Hopefully we can add him, this would be solid.
Yeah, as of today he would end up playing 30 minutes easy.Things would have to break perfectly for Pitt in order to prevent this kid from starting.
He is coming in realitically expecting to start and play big minutes.
Jeffress plays an entirely different game , he will be a wing with range and Max’s future is as a 5 . Neither where ready last season and I doubt that either ( really only Will ) would be ready to see starters minutes next season .Yeah, as of today he would end up playing 30 minutes easy.
I want Jeffries to be a player, but when push comes to shove this kid has a very active game and goes to work in the post, Jeffries is still growing into his body and plays a more three like game. No way this guy sits on the bench while Max and Will take up space on the court.
Even if Champ returns.

This is a good start and this kid can slide to the 5 in a “Smallball” lineup but Pitt still has a loooong way to go. Need 2x more 5’s, a back up PG / Combo G and more Shooting. That was my point.
Unless they make some monumental progress before the start of this upcoming season HCJC is not going to roll Max out at the five or Will at the three (or four) just to have players who look the part for those spots if this kid is clearly going to do more to help him win games in the ACC, whether is it as the five, four, or playing along with Champ in the frontcourt.

105.6The only way I'll know if this was a good pick up or not is if someone posts his ORTG. Otherwise, there's no way to tell.
