Gonna watch a lot of those old YouTube games this weekend. I figured I’d make a separate thread so we don’t clutter the other with random comments.

As I’ve posted elsewhere, I have really strong and positive emotions and feelings associated with that 08-09 team. Just turned on the Pitt @ UConn game.

Man was Blair good. Really really good. But Young was the best player on that team.

That UCONn game to end the season at home was excellent! That was the best atmosphere I was ever in and that happened to be my birthday and my mom was in the early stages of a cancer diagnosis (she’s good) so that game was an “escape from life” day. Drank a ton at Peters pregame. Bought about 20 of those Calhoun towels and then lost most of them walking up the hill.

Both of those teams were so good. That game was an absolute war and each team made their runs. We were tough. I love that team. And watching now, it’s like I’m seeing it for the first time. And Verne and Raftery just made it that much better in TV.

I was shocked how deep it was .
i really forgot what a warrior travon was - toughest little dude we’ve had
I always loved Tray as a warrior. But up until his senior year, I viewed him as really just a role player type. That is, until his senior year when he really put it all together and became a 2nd team All Big East performer.

He wasn’t dissimilar to Lamar Patterson, although Lamar actually played very near All American level as a senior.
