HCJC adds a guard midstream. Anyone know anything about him? Impressive highlight reel.
Fuggetaboudit. Some guys on the pay board say he can't play.HCJC adds a guard midstream. Anyone know anything about him? Impressive highlight reel.

Quick point guard who can shoot the 3 ball off the dribble. Sidy N'Dir sub for now.
Sounds like he was a good student, good major, so I believe that is a likely scenario.A guy who averaged 13 points in HS with D3 offers isn't subbing for anyone. He is clearly a walk-on. Was probably already enrolled at Pitt and decided to walk-on.
At least as of a few years ago, Pitt’s club basketball team was pretty good (for club team standards), and a few walk-ons in the Stallings era were players from the club team. It’s very possible this kid played club and they picked him from their roster. Club sports at a school of Pitt’s size are often kids who could have easily played D2 or D3.I think this is how Reese Polen joined the team back in 2006. The team needed a practice player and held a short invitation-only walk-on try out for some current Pitt students that were DII/DIII prospects but decided to go to Pitt instead. In Reese's case, I believe he came to Pitt to play baseball but quit the baseball team a semester or so before joining the Bball team.

I would be skeptical if this were a Stallings move. But since its Capel and we saw what he did in late recruiting last year I will, until it is proven otherwise, believe this kid has the ability to play at this level far better than a walk-on.
jeez...he probably is just a walk on that went to pitt, but why on earth SMF are you harping on how awful the kid is?
I highly doubt that they brought him on to get game minutes - but I think they were down to 9 healthy players, and you obviously need 10 for in-practice offense v. defense
They had 9 healthy scholarship players plus 3 walking already, so they could practice. He gets them up to 13.I highly doubt that they brought him on to get game minutes - but I think they were down to 9 healthy players, and you obviously need 10 for in-practice offense v. defense
