The handle on this fight was the biggest in Las Vegas in many years, and will be more than any single NFL game on Sunday. I think it took everyone by surprise to be honest. A friend of mine that works at Caesars said he took a 500k bet yesterday and a 300k wager today, both on Paul.
I’m assuming that those that thought Tyson had any kind of legitimate chance had forgotten that he was getting KO’d by untalented white guys when he was in his 30’s, not sure why it would be any different at age 58. The whole Tyson is a lunatic and will win with his craziness was a farce as well. His personality changed years ago and he hasn’t been that bad guy for a long time, if you ever run into him he is pretty much always approachable and friendly.
This had a lot in common with the Mayweather/McGregor fight a few years ago, nothing is easier money than when the public thinks an underdog has a legitimate chance to win, and you see what should be a huge favorite go off ridiculously short priced. This ended up where the books had a major opinion on one side and had way more exposure on Tyson but rolled the dice that Paul and the sharp money was going to win.
