Thankfully this one isn't new to 2020. I remember reading about an outbreak in California within the past five years and there was information about the plague when I visited Colorado last year

We have a cure for the plague. If it reaches your lungs or blood, you're basically dead, but if you get to it in time antibiotics will wipe that crap right out.

Are there telltale signs that an animal is infected?

It would be kind of nice to know before consuming.

I have all my marmot tested. Expensive but worth it. Not into squirrel.

It does make me wonder about other animals that we do eat on a regular basis. Like cattle and pigs.
