I love Sirius as well. But I wonder what the long term outlook is. I love Howard Stern, but I believe they aren't developing other non-sports, non-political hosts out of fear of him lashing out. And national sports talk doesn't do much for me. I listen to it around certain times of the year like the NFL Draft, MLB Draft, Opening day, Super Bowl week. Or when a big sports scandal hits. But other than that, national sports talk is everything that is wrong with sports. Mad Dog is one of the best in the business, but he's all Yankees, all the time. ESPN radio and MLB radio is Yankees and Dodgers. Just can't take it.That lifetime deal, was a deal. I get an invoice every spring for $29 a month, and do the drill. Call in and ask for the special deal. Paid under $150 for this year.
Have kids in Cinci, Baltimore, and Charlotte. Get our moneys worth. College sports talk is awesome. Well worth th $12 I pay a month. Show Pony and Neuheisel 9-12 am. Great convo’s.
Plus you get Deep cuts from the 60’s and 70’s, and garage band. My wheelhouse.
But the main reason I wonder about the future of Sirius is because kids aren't listening to it. I offered to get it for my kids' cars (mainly for when I'm driving them), but they said they don't need it and don't want it. They listen to podcasts and Spotify. Most kids today do the same.
I feel like Sirius will fall apart after Howard finally hangs it up because they haven't developed anything special. Outside of Howard, there is no content that isn't also available elsewhere.
