OT: Alumni Computing/Email Account

I got an email asking if I want to keep my university email account. I didn’t know it was active since I graduated 25 years ago. Does anyone still use their pitt.edu account after graduation? What value do you find in it?

I thought when you graduated they took it away because they needed to recycle the various usernames

I think this is the alumni.pitt.edu account they are talking about. When I graduated, I figured I'm going to make that my main email but all it is is a mail forwarding account so you link your gmail or hotmail or whatever to it and anyone who emails your alumni.pitt.edu account goes to your other account so there's really not much of a point to it.
