I thought this episode took a little too much advantage of the reunion of the characters who'd been separated for so long, as well as the introduction of the featured characters who'd never met before. Of course this was necessary given the circumstances of the story and how all of characters' individual story lines are now converging.
That being said, I enjoyed it but I'm looking forward to moving beyond the "family reunion" bit and toward the showdown with the Ice King and whatever madness Cerce is going to roll out for the North.

More lazy writing. A boring episode setting the pieces for 4 episodes of shaky cam battles.
Funny but I too thought the writing was weak. Very weak at times. Some of the dialogue was not As sharp as I’ve been used to. Tyrion’s lines in particular were lazy while the story telling of the overall episode lacked.
Overall though, I watched the episode a 2nd time and liked it more.
The pain is almost over.
The world disagrees.
Also, having Jon's name be Aegon is absurdly stupid.
How so?

What does this mean?
I have to admit that it’s bizarre...but the whole series, print and tv, is bizarre. I mean, this Aegon Targaryian just slept with his aunt and is in love with her. She’s likely pregnant. Not to mention that another fan favorite character fathered 2, soon to be 3, children with his sister and also pushed a boy out a window when the boy witnessed the two having sex.I would be absolutely floored if Martin has Jon's "Targ name" be Aegon. Why? Because there was already an Aegon. Aegon Targaryen is the son of Rhaegar and Elia Martell. Why would Lyanna name her son the exact same thing when, to the best of her knowledge, the other Aegon was still alive.
Young Griff is the name of the young man who just invaded Westeros alongside Jon Connington and the Golden Company and may actually be Aegon Targaryen or maybe a Blackfyre at the end of Dance with Dragons.
Speaking of Martin, has he finished any books lately?
