I have repeatedly said that I believe ND will be in the ACC full time in football within a couple years, and I stick with it. Their 2016 schedule http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-16/2016-notre-dame-fighting-irish-football-schedule.php can be tweaked in a heartbeat to accommodate 7 ACC division games and they keep their 5 major rivals, Army, Navy, Stanford, USC, Michigan State. I knew that their would have to be another addition to bring it to 16. Say Navy does come in, then all they do is pay off Nevada and walla, 7 ACC division games, a true conference championship game, which DOES NOT COUNT towards the schedule. And because Navy would be in the ACC, they added Texas. We will see a division of PITT, Cuse, Navy, Notre Dame, Louisville, Boston College, Virginia and Virginia Tech. But I suspect that somehow, all ACC teams would like to have some kind of rotation with ND. But I say that in the end, ND and PITT will be back to a yearly game.

From a thread on a Notre Dame board. They mention a deal to bring in Navy. My bet is that everybody would want a military academy in their schedule on a regular basis.
A couple excerpts;
"If ND were to come in fully for football, the ACC will remain at 15 - unless a really Big name wants to come in as #16. Really Big name means schools like Texas, Penn State. The only exception to that will be if ND demands to have Navy as a football member. Then Navy gets in for football (and lacrosse and perhaps baseball)."
"1. ND's 2 Annual rivals are Pitt and Syracuse. Pitt because of history and location and Cuse because of location. Cuse also would have to agree to play all its Home games against ND in the NYC TV market, either at Giants Met Life or Yankee Stadium. Cuse must play in NYC often to become 'New York's team', and ND need to be there often to keep the largest TV fan base in NYC for college football Irish."
