OT: Pens

If I were the Islanders I would beat on the Pens. They can't score on the powerplay. Plus, every powerplay failure gives the Islanders momentum. I would bet my bottom dollar this game goes to OT at 2-2 or 3-3. The Islanders once again look like the better team after the first half of the game. We are not getting any where near the number of chances we had early in the game.

No matter the start, every playoff game is like groundhog day the movie. By the end, we have OT, and of course we lose.

Im gonna watch this third period with 1 eye closed.
Pens need to play aggressive.
Islanders due a PP here soon too.

We were keeping momentum by shooting and retrieving the puck. Then it became just pass pass pass - turnover. They've been better in the neutral zone at least....

And I wonder how the ice could possibly be this bad tonight... What the f*** is up with that?

I hate that everything's still going wide. We're not challenging them - not going to the net.

We look like the 1 - 10 Pens with a hot goalie right now. Someone better step up.

Edit: And then the first line steps up & goes crazy. Let's hope they can keep it up. Need a goal bad.

Sorry but players like Aston Reese , Blueger, and Rodriques are basically just taking up space so far in the series. They look overmatched.

Tonight I saw this team destined for a loss, being thoroughly outplayed left and right.... Then Sid & Jake took it to another level, taking most of the team with them.

This is what I've been talking about with Jake these last few months. He came into this game like he had been all year - not himself. Got his teeth kicked in - got back up - and answered the challenge. Started playing more physical, more determined. Helped Sid out immensely.

Great finish. Even though we didn't score - we put up like - 15 shots in the last 10 minutes on those bastords.

Really liked that third period. We didn't give them much and we had better chances. Pens have to play with that battle level to beat this team.

It's been 3 post seasons now. THREE!! You don't have to win the Stanley Cup every year. That's the ultimate goal of course, but you want to show up. You want to show some passion some fight. They haven't. They haven't at all for 3 years. What you saw from Brian Dumoulin tonight, that warrior like effort where it didn't look like he would even play.......the passion of Brandon Tanev. The fight. The Pens showed fight. Jarry was great, but the Pens showed character finally. And while they didn't score, after the first 5 minutes or so in the 3rd, the Pens took back the play and if it wasn't for Varlamov, it would have been an easy 4-1 victory. And what a great comeback game for Tristan Jarry.

So now it is 1-1. You need a split in the Island. But my god, my blood pressure can't take this. How do the Isles play so effing hard and just undeterred every game, shift after shift, never a letdown? This is really hard. This will be a hard series to win, but it is winnable.

Big win, game 2s matter.

Nice to see Jarry bounce back. All 4 lines played solid. A healthy Geno will help the power play, especially the entry. Having a tough time getting set up.

Lag night felt different than the last 2 years because this team is different. As was the case in 2017 If they feel like doing what they did last night for the next 2 months they’re going to be an extremely tough out.
