Wasn't it only like 15 years ago they were a 3A school and not even a good one. Like I never remembered them even making the 3A playoffs. Fast forward and they have become the dominant WPIAL program. They essentially leaped over 40-50 schools in 15 years.

15 years ago they lost the the 3A state championship game in double overtime. That was the team with Neil Walker. They won a WPIAL championship and played in multiple WPIAL semis.

They moved up to Quad A in 2007 or 08 and it took them several years to get established. Even now they're one of the smallest 6A teams.

When I was in grade school I remember they came down and played Brentwood so they had to be a 1 or 2 A at the time. Early 90's.

South Fayette is the Pine Richland of the south.

One of the best high school game I ever saw.

OK, I remember that now, maybe I am going back a little further. I guess what I am saying is they were not a historically good 3A program

25 years ago they were Richland, and a AA school.

They went "all in" in football. Was one of the first schools to spend 10 mil on a football stadium. Moved up in class.

They're huge and wealthy now, and that's only increasing. AHN is going to greatly expand on the medical campus they only recently just finished there, likely attracting even more huge housing developments to the ones recently constructed, and additional high income influx.

Meanwhile a bit further up the road a Bentley dealership recently opened.

Pretty wild to go up there lately and see all the new houses. My dad used to take us on a "drive through the country" in that area.

It's a lot more than "all in" for football. Boys BB won a WPIAL title two years ago and lost in the finals last year. Baseball won WPIALs in 2017. Girls LAX won the last two WPIAL titles. Soccer teams are also good.

Yeah. I think only 10 years ago they played my Alma Mater in the playoffs or they were in the same division. Now they are 6A and my HS is one of the smaller 4A schools.

I can remember when I was in high school (A, AA, AAA and AAAA) I think they were just like a smaller AA school, no more of a sports threat than neighboring Deer Lakes. Amazing, Deer Lakes has stayed exactly the same, and P-R has exploded. The same thing with Mars. And South Fayette to a lesser extent.
