grandstanding? long thread, making a point both to answer and reiterate the absurdityI literally said it in the original post you can stop grandstanding
Yes, not to sound like a hair on fire liberal, LOL, but pining for the good old days, like 3 years ago when Sleepy Joe got quite a number of very bipartisan bills passed through Congress. Infrastructure bill that Orange talked a lot about but never did anything, and the CHIPS act which actually DID bring private investment and a chip plant to Ohio. Set up several other investments which Orange is taking credit for. LOLThe shame of all of this is both parties have sunk so deep in the muck that it’s actually killing our country. Nothing ever gets done in congress anymore, no bipartisan solutions. Who suffers, us the American people.
It’s seems that the politicians want to divide us on purpose. If you don’t agree with the far left they don’t or won’t discuss anything with you. The far right just screams louder how “woke” you are if you don’t agree with them.
The only way to solve issues is everyone must sit down and listen to each other then come to agreement in a partisan way. That’s the American way.
And one thing leave religion out of the discussion. It’s in the constitution.
All this is true, but the Party and supportive media were like, "Nothing to see here".Don't get the hiding Joe part? Anyone with eyes could see age was catching up with the guy.
Hanging on to him did Trump a huge favor because by the time it became obvious even to those wanting to believe otherwise, it was too late to have a primary season that would have produced a solid candidate to take Donnie on.
His inner circle probably did try to minimize the damage, but in the end if played right into MAGA's hands.
The debate performance was hard to watch. Like Ali fighting Holmes. Sad.
Honestly, how "fit" does a guy need to be to be president? It isn't like its an Olympic event. All this is true, but the Party and supportive media were like, "Nothing to see here".
Well, people saw. I guess the was no easy way to manage the situation though.
Religious beliefs impact people's political policies. There's nothing in the Constitution proscribing that. And one thing leave religion out of the discussion. It’s in the constitution.
Duuuude...they have to at least be able to stay awake during a debate. 🙄Honestly, how "fit" does a guy need to be to be president? It isn't like its an Olympic event.
We "fixed" the senile problem by electing a soon to be 79 years old replacement! LOL
Presidents don't figure all this stuff out by themselves, they have cabinets and WH staff and aides and think tanks and Congress......pretty big support group.
If he can sign his name, and play golf, I guess he's good to go!
Because they can’t read and comprehend. They will believe any bullshit that they hear without knowing the facts or even looking up the facts and formulate any type of analytical thinking. I guess I’m different from a lot of people because in my profession I had to make quick decisions and/or do critical thinking to resolve major issues. It’s called critical path method. Where to you want to be and how do you get there without many detours. When you face one how to overcome it and continue to resolve the problems.Religious beliefs impact people's political policies. Most people don't understand the first amendment....or more likely they never actually read it.
For those who don’t remember or were during Regan’s 2nd term he was senile and his wife was propping him up. Nobody said anything about it but it was so apparent.Honestly, how "fit" does a guy need to be to be president? It isn't like its an Olympic event.

I meant to say “we’re not around” during Regan’s 2nd term. I type faster than I think sometimes. Oh well I’m old what do you want. But I still ROCK 🎸For those who don’t remember or were during Regan’s 2nd term he was senile and his wife was propping him up. Nobody said anything about it but it was so apparent.
The problem is.................Politics has become our religion in this country. It's become over the top with people unwilling or don't care about the truth or right or wrong just so it serves their party. The shame of all of this is both parties have sunk so deep in the muck that it’s actually killing our country. Nothing ever gets done in congress anymore, no bipartisan solutions. Who suffers, us the American people.

Okay, but I may have misunderstood what you posted. What did you mean by "It's in the Constitution"?Because they can’t read and comprehend. That’s just me.
But yeah...okay we all did see it. But you had Democrats and Left leaning media telling us it was manipulation by Fox or AI and constantly defending Biden as "sharp" until it was proven he was anything but. That's the problem in this country now, the truth is whatever you want it to be.Don't get the hiding Joe part? Anyone with eyes could see age was catching up with the guy.

Can I ask you a question? How do you know these guys aren't lying?? I have never seen one of these cited fact checkers have catching a Democrat in a lie. It is like they are constantly mainlining sodium pentothal I guess.
IDK, it put me to sleep too!Duuuude...they have to at least be able to stay awake during a debate. 🙄
But to be honest, when Trump bragged that he could beat Joe on the golf course, I cringed. I expected Joe to whip it out on the spot and dare Donnie to measure up.
God help us.
Some of it was manipulated for effect by Fox.But yeah...okay we all did see it. But you had Democrats and Left leaning media telling us it was manipulation by Fox or AI and constantly defending Biden as "sharp" until it was proven he was anything but. That's the problem in this country now, the truth is whatever you want it to be.
And let's remember when Biden ran in 2020.....consensus opinion amongst Republicans and many Democrats was to pray for Joe's good health because you had perhaps the most incompetent, unqualified candidate who was second in command.
because there’s very intricate reporting and tracking of all of thisCan I ask you a question? How do you know these guys aren't lying?? I have never seen one of these cited fact checkers have catching a Democrat in a lie. It is like they are constantly mainlining sodium pentothal I guess.
Alot of Trump's lies are honestly hilarious because they are so over the top and outrageous. But they are also mostly unimportant stuff. That's what he does.
I’ll add this too, and this isn’t gaslighting the right, those on the left are FAR more likely to call out lies and call bs. I want to avoid calling people uneducated but it’s pretty clear that those with higher education levels lean left. Polls and election results show that, and in general you’ll have a harder time getting crap like past the base on the left.because there’s very intricate reporting and tracking of all of this
And the fact checkers get democrats all the time
Here is one just because I remember it from the VP debate on Walz lying about his China trips

But frankly I think it’s not like a moral superiority thing. I think democrats are too big of pussies to lie and exaggerate their successes or mitigate their failures because they’re terrified of how organized the right is with messaging on single particular issues
I’ll also add to it’s much easier to mass message when you lie. The “violent crime” by illegal immigrants for example is pretty false as it has been shown again and again they commit crime at a lower rate than documented or citizens. It’s just dog whistle scare tactic the right uses. Same as the trans athlete issue, or the trans issue in general. There have been polls showing that people believe like 10-15% of the country is trans when in reality it’s far under 1%.because there’s very intricate reporting and tracking of all of this

Yes. But the left is also guilty of gaslighting and "cooking the books" that influence people.I’ll also add to it’s much easier to mass message when you lie. It wasn’t from the start of his presidency. Just look at his debate performances in his first run against Trump. I’m not saying he was a great debater. He just was much better than he was in his attempt at a second term. How would you know? They kept him in a basement and limited him take questions from the press during the campaign and then into his term. And when he did take questions, he had a cheat sheet (which actually even went into details like where to stand, how to exit and who to call on). He should have never been propped up by the Dems, and that’s exactly what they did. It was weekend at Bernie’s from the start. All because they couldn’t have Bernie Sanders (ironically) lead their ticket.
And the public not knowing until the debate? What a bunch of zombies! Most people knew, so much so that CNN and MSNBC had to gaslight 24-7 and tell all their viewers that Joe was sharp as a tact. Meanwhile it was just another left wing hoax. Even guys like SMF knew and that’s saying something.
I’m pretty sure Dems learned their lesson this election. You can’t win on these woke issues. Now as the parent of a gay child. I’ll say the right are just homophobic and have very little sympathy for these people. These people honestly didn’t choose to be gay. And as you so greatly pointed out. They are not a large majority of the population. They really struggle trying to figure out their place in a world full of straight people. You would probably get a lot less of the in your face gayness. If you treated them better. It’s there rebellious reaction to straight people who just can’t accept who they are.Yes. But the left is also guilty of gaslighting and "cooking the books" that influence people.
in a Pew Poll, these numbers are outstanding.
Respondents guessed on average that 30% of the U.S. population is Jewish — a sum 15 times the actual proportion.
Black Americans, for example, estimated on average that they made up 52% of the adult population, compared to the actual 12%
First-generation immigrants guessed on average that 40% of Americans were also recent immigrants, compared to the actual 14%.
They also guessed that 21% of the country is transgender (actual proportion: 1%),
That 26% has a household income over $500,000 (actual: 1%)
That 30% of the country lives in New York City (actual: 3%), among a host of other incorrect assumption
Why is this? It is reflective of the outsized coverage in the news and also Hollywood movies/shows who weight and skew just how many people, they get all of the attention.
Some of these people act like this is a conscious choice, like a kid wakes up one morning and says, Gee, I think I'll be gay!I’m pretty sure Dems learned their lesson this election. You can’t win on these woke issues. Now as the parent of a gay child. I’ll say the right are just homophobic and have very little sympathy for these people. State and religion are to be separate. The framers of the constitution left England to get away from the church run monarchy. That’s why it is stated to keep religion and government separate. You can practice whatever religion you want but keep it separate.Okay, but I may have misunderstood what you posted. What did you mean by "It's in the Constitution"?
I will tell you one thing for certain, democrats will not learn from this whatsoever lolI’m pretty sure Dems learned their lesson this election. You can’t win on these woke issues. what Is your real advice to them? I’m at a loss. I think that not focusing on culture wars is fine, but I struggle to see how you counteract rampant misinformationI will tell you one thing for certain, democrats will not learn from this whatsoever lol
Pretty simple. Let Trump run the ball. This shit will catch up with MAGA sooner rather than later. It's happening already.W

It's gonna be the exact same as how they win every other electionW

The republicans shoot themselves in the foot someway somehow, set up a failing economy, botch a pandemic response, start a foreign war... then democrats have to attempt to solve said crisis (and do so a little bit but completely fail to connect with the electorate and elect a republican again)
My advice to them? Run a white guy you want to have a beer with and is well spoken. I'm so dead ass serious. I think it's genuinely that simple with the American electorate.
Preferably from a swing state. Preferably a governor that has a great record against crime. Hopefully he's funny too. And in no way involved with the Biden Administration
And make sure his veep is a man too who fills in whatever crack the main guy has be in foreign policy, border stuff, connection to a particular voting block you need, and again preferably from a swing state and again no crossover with the Biden White House. If you take a governor for the presidency get a senator who is a ranking committee member in the weak spot.
I really am not trying to be sexist nor racist. But white women have no proven in back to back elections where one has run that they are not swinging the vote in a woman's favor. Black women will never break from the democratic party. Hispanic people just got burnt so bad they're blue for a cycle or two.
leftists have proven they don't actually vote reliably either. they are hoity toity and will find some reason not to vote for the democrat.
There's 5% in the middle where the entire election hinges and they go with comfort and whatever kitchen table issue is most prominent at the time. And I'm willing to bet that'll be fixing the trash ass economy Trump is gonna spit out.
My early thoughts are some combination of Beshear, Gov KY, Shapiro Gov PA, Warner Sen VA, Booker Sen NJ
Bingo! It's gonna be the exact same as how they win every other election

I really feel bad for gay people who who want to have and live essentially a normal life. As someone said "what do you care who sleeps with who?" Totally agree with that. Totally. Fine with gay marriage. I mean if it helps people take care of each other and with a 50% divorce rate in hetero marriage how can it be worse. But the LGBQ community has become hijacked by almost militant groups. I am not going to get into the Norm MacDonald parody of pride parades, it is one thing to celebrate, now they seem to have crossed lines and are designed to offend. Again, feel bad for gay professionals who get tagged with this. Then the trans stuff....well I am sorry alot of this is mental illness. But it is the sexualization of young kids that has caused the Republicans to come out strongly against this community. If I would take 5 year olds to strip clubs and other hetero centered activities, I would be arrested and my child be taken away from me. This is where lines are crossed. First off, little children shouldn't be taught anything except how to have fun and play and let them go and figure things out. Second, and this is bizarre, it seems "cool" now for parents to have a gay kid or one who is transitioning. It has become Kabuki theatre for Hollywood types. I don't get how we got to this point aside from our inability as a legislature, judicial systems, to say "no" sometimes and stop some of the nonsense.I’m pretty sure Dems learned their lesson this election. Not racist or sexist at all. It’s pretty obvious that there is a built in disadvantage for a woman running. It's gonna be the exact same as how they win every other election

Okay, I thought you were going there.State and religion are to be separate. The framers of the constitution left England to get away from the church run monarchy. That’s why it is stated to keep religion and government separate. You can practice whatever religion you want but keep it separate.
I agree with you this country was based on Judeo Christian laws. A lot of our laws are based on some of the 10 commandments. Yes theft should be criminalized. I am not Christian but Judaism teaches the same thing. Actually in Judaism there are not 10 commandments but 616 commandments laws and ordinances that are to be followed. A lot of them don’t apply to today’s world. But the one thing that Judaism teaches us if anything is to know how to treat people.Okay, I thought you were going there.
First, we need to realize that the first thing the folks who left England to escape the Church run monarchy did was set up their own Church run colonies. Few sailed across the Atlantic Ocean so that they could create a community where everyone could worship a different religion. Virginia, if memory serves, was an Anglican State. People may recall Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists where he coined the term Separation of Church and State in order to help stop persecution of Baptists.
The First Amendment said that Congress shall pass no law respecting an establishment of religion. That just means that the national government via Congressional legislation couldn't require financial support for and/or adherence to the doctrines of a specific denomination. States could tax citizens to support a Church and some did. The First Amendment only applies to Congress.
I think the other concept you may be missing is the distinction between practicing a religion and agreeing with a moral or ethical code held by a religion. For example, I agree with the Christian teaching that theft should be criminalized. Therefore I vote for representatives who will pass laws to criminalize theft, which is a violation of someone's property rights.
Perhaps a more clear example would be outlawing adoption except for married heterosexual couples. There is no right to adopt. It's a privilege granted by the State. Your vote is cast based on whatever belief you hold. Just because your belief agrees with a teaching promoted by a particular religion, it does not invalidate that belief. Another person may vote the same way based on a non-religious philosophical teaching. The Constitution doesn't discriminate against legislation based on why people voted for it. We don't make voters take a religious test before we allow them in the voting booth.
Apologies for going full pedantic. Never go full pedantic.
Is she stupid or what. She’ll lose real quick in the primaries. As a democrat I would not vote for her.Yet I read that Kamala is foregoing a run for CA Governor to ramp up a second presidential run in 2028! Good luck with that! LOL
Once people get a taste of this fruit, they find it impossible to put it down.Is she stupid or what. She’ll lose real quick in the primaries. As a democrat I would not vote for her.
Excellent point. You can't go wrong with Ecclesiastes 12:13. Keep it simple I guess.I agree with you this country was based on Judeo Christian laws. Maybe we all need to look inward and treat others the way you want others to treat you. To me that means using common sense. But as you probably know that a lot of people just don’t have common sense and decency.
