But Nirvana had such an incredible musical sense and sophistication about them that they were the first punk band to make incredibly beautiful punk rock. It became a genre all unto itself.

So, I do not have a problem with Lauryn Hill's album being that high; I think it was a masterpiece. Tastes differ I guess. But, I do not have a problem with saying it is on the shortlist of best hip hop records of all time.

Its a good record. Not really in the top 20 of greatest hip hop records though. Id venture to say youd get less than 1% of hip hop fans to list that as a pillar of the genre.

But again, "good" and "top 100". Big difference. Dion Lewis was a good college football RB. But is he a Hall of Famer? No.
