Having grown up in Potter County, in 1962, just before my 8th birthday, I watched a playoff game twixt the Giants and dodgers. I became enthralled with the centerfielder for San Francisco, the Say Hey Kid. I quickly latched on to the Giants as my favorite sports team, and have remained a fan for 61 years now. The only teams I am more passionate about now than the Giants, are our beloved Panthers.
To the crux of the title, living in SoCal for so long, I long have been chided by dodger fans for the success. Might I say seeing them get eliminated for the 34th out off 35 years, gave me great joy. I am always ready to also let their fans know, the only world series they've won in 35 years, came in 2020, and we know that as a horrible year for all that we went through, so it is appropriate that they also won in it on neutral fields in front of basically no one.
Maybe I shouldn't feel such glee in their demise, but I can't help it, sports rivalries give us twisted emotions as our rivals fail.
