With apologies to the existing med school ranking thread, here's the rest of Pitt's new graduate program rankings (only new rankings that are currently publicly available) with changes from the most recent prior rankings in parentheses when known (/= no change, += improvement, -=downward move, n/r= ranking not made in prior year)

For comparison of trends my last post from 2019 is available here.

Take aways from the previous year: Katz takes a tumble while Pitt Law takes a much awaited jump. Something obviously went wrong with Pitt's Nursing masters ranking. Programs under the new School of Computing and Information all took a slight tumble since their last ranking while humaities programs in Dietrich are all climbing up.

I'm pretty sure that Pitt's Library and Information Science program used to be ranked in the top 5, or maybe even top 3. Wow have they allowed that program to falter. What a shame.

And GSPIA was a top 10 when I went there. Now folks laugh at my degree.

In 1996, Library Science at Pitt was ranked #5. That might have been the first year of that ranking. But they took a big dip this year dropping 7 slots. Should be in the top 10.

In 1998, which I do think was the first year Public Affairs schools were ranked, Pitt was tied for 20th with six other schools. By 2008, Pitt was ranked 27 tied with five other schools. I don't know if they were ever in the top 10 in US News. May have been in other rankings. But it has been a slow decent from 20th to 38th. To be fair, ranking methodologies may have changed over time.

Money is the only thing that fixes these things.
