OT: What are you making for the Super Bowl?

I won't watch the game (will read and watch a movie instead), but the wife and I will eat as if we were. We'll snack on some artichoke dip and nachos. Then, for health, some Caesar salad. The main course will be pierogis and hot sausage. Dessert will be blackberry and key line pies. We'll wash it all down with some Yuengling (me) and Chardonnay (her).
Digressing but if you have Netflix, I caught a movie last night that I loved called "The Guernsey". Not sure what genre you like, but it is historical and romantic. Very well done. Lovely movie.

I do have Netflix and I will check it out. Actually both historical and romantic appeal to me. My wife and I just watched Lincoln again on Netfilx this past weekend and, unlike most of my male friends, I enjoy watching those schmaltzy romantic films on the Hallmark Channel. Thanks for the tip.

I will make the Kaya Black Bean Dip. No one will eat it because of spice level (canned chipotles) and then I will have lots of extra for myself!!! :D

If you watch it, come back and let me know what you think.

We just got Netflix as well, and my wife and I have been exploring everything available.
I appreciate your comments as a lot of these titles you really have no idea!
Lots of previously run series from premium channels, so lots of catching up to do there!

Agreed. I appreciate comments from regular people (no offense) rather than some film critic.

You are quite the chef.

I have been eating clean for the last 6 months, so I live vicariously through reading what others are making. I do cheat, but it's usually booze. Hope that doesn't make me sound like alcoholic. LOL
Yeah well starting next week........I am going to do "something" including cutting way back on booze.

Can I ask what eating clean means?

Beaver tail over fried rice. With a side of chicken gizzards. Don't ask for the receipt long time West Virginia family dishes, this meal will replace wings and subs for super bowl games

Just interested in how big you all plan to go. I am making a fresh garden salsa to take to a SB party, and have a home brewed blackberry stout.

Hopefully some smoked trout with crackers too, but the acquisition of said trout has eluded me all week.

What are you planning to eat/drink for the big game?
Pimento cheese spread on crackers, carrots & celery with BC dip, wings with Coke & brown sugar sauce.

Thank you pitt-girl. My wife and I just watched "The Guernsey" and it was terrific. Both of us teared up a bit. It was 2 hours spent and well worth the time. We likely would not have seen it had it not been for your recommendation. Thanks again!

That's awesome! I too just happened to stumble on it - I had not previously read anything about it. Very well done movie.

I'll go full Pittsburgh Dad and wear my SIXBURGH sweatshirt, which I can't believe is 10 years old.
That's one more piece of Stillers gear than I've ever owned.
