As if trading Tyler Glasnow and Austin Meadows to the Rays for Chris Archer and then having Archer be so bad that he is now back with the Rays isn't bad enough, the player to be named later in that deal started Game 2 for the Rays last night against the Red Sox. Shane Baz didn't do well against the Sox, but to be good enough to start a playoff game makes it clear that he is doing well with the Rays. Glasnow has been hurt this year, but did very well for the Rays in the previous years since being traded. I realize the Pirates gave Glasnow several chances, but somehow they were never able to make it work for him, whereas he became productive for the Rays as soon as he went there. Although Meadows only had a .232 BA this year, he had 100 RBIs. And now Baz. So three young, very productive players for the Rays and nothing for the Pirates. No wonder they finished first in their division by eight games over the Yankees and Red Sox, and we finished last in our division with over 100 losses.
