OT: Wow! Best soccer goal that I've ever seen!

one of the more under rated sports movies IMO. I mean, you have to over look the whole Michael Cain as an athlete gaffe but besides that, pretty good..

id still have taken the tunnel at halftime option but im no Pele and the movie ending wouldn't have been as dramatic..
LOL......my English buddy gets the hugest kick out of Michael Caine portraying a world class soccer star. It would be like Sylvester Stallone portraying a world class soccer star. Oh wait........

yeah but stallone was not a soccer player, even in that movie, right? Been decades since I seen it but didn't they need him on that roster so they broke the real goalie's forearm?

At least a young Sly looked like an athlete..

I mean, you have to over look the whole Michael Cain as an athlete gaffe...why was it a gaffe? Seems to me a Korean War combat vet from an infantry outfit could pull off kicking around a ball for a couple hours...

When I was a young boy around 12 or 13, one of my friends mentioned that the Brazilian soccer ream was barnstorming through out the USA and was going to be playing at the now defunct, 80,000+ seat Cleveland Municipal Stadium on Saturday.

I begged my Mom to drive a few of us to the game to see the great Pele, known at the time as "the world's greatest athlete." She finally relented and off to Cleveland we drove that Saturday morning...only to find when we arrived a completely empty Municipal Stadium. My friend had given us the wrong date!

Words can't describe how disappointed we were or how angry my Mom was because she had taken a day off from work to drive us!

I don't know why exactly but this reminded me of Terrelle Pryor making a ridiculously long TD run as Raiders QB against the Steelers that led to an improbable win. The kind that has you give some begrudging admiration for the player but more disgust at the defenders who allowed it.
