How do you fix ACC Basketball? Not necessarily in the short-term but in the medium to long-term. Can it even be fixed?

You can't. The NIL disparity is too great. And with Clemson and FSU sure to depart soon, that gap is only going to widen even further.

Can’t be fixed. NIL is the great equalizer against the blue bloods.

We got wrecked in the challenge and I believe that will be an annual occurrence. Don’t have the coach quality that the SEC does and they have way more NIL impact

Bennett hung it up because UVA couldn't compete in the NIL/Portal era and UVA had become just another bubble program with no real shot at accomplishing anything significant. The last few years of Brey and Dixon were mediocre, at best. The had to tell Boeheim in a not so nice way - dude you're effing 80. Go home & enjoy life.

Dixon was on a HOF path here. And he is a good coach. Lets say BC hires him in March, he gets them to the NCAAT 2 or 3 out of every 5 years.

He was struggling to go .500 in conference play his last 5 years. Dixon is 60–81 in conference play at TCU. He's never made it to the second week of the tournament, winning only 2 NCAAT games in his entire 8 years in Fort Worth.

Why can Baylor, Iowa St, Texas Tech, Houston, Cincy be Top 30 teams but places like Notre Dame, Syracuse, Florida St, Wake, NC State can’t figure it out

NIL helps but the B12 proves its coaching, not just NIL. In college basketball, you need a PG, a wing, a big, and a coach. And this country produces a massive supply of PG's, wings, and bigs. There are enough players out there.

Football and Basketball are so different. In football, if you asked me if I'd rather have Prime Saban but very low NIL or top-level NIL and any random HC, I'd pick top NIL. In basketball, if you asked me if I'd rather have a Danny Hurley or Nate Oats and very low NIL or any random coach and very high NIL, I'd pick the proven coaches. Those are extreme examples though. Bottom line is you need a good coach.

We are Top 15 in the NET. Why do we constantly feed into a narrative that doesn’t matter because our conference isn’t as good as the SEC right now? For years after we left it the narrative was Big East was great regular season but not in the tournament. Do you think Villanova fans cared about that as their team won every BET title and went to final fours and won national championships? If anything I’m happy our league isn’t so dominant. Maybe we won’t be so beat up if we make the tournament this year that we
can go on the run.

I’d rather be a top dog in a decent conference and make deep runs like Nova did than be like Pitt was under Dixon…where we were one of the best of a deep conference but could never turn that into the type of tournament success that matched our regular season record and reputation.

Because the systems suck and that was literally the reason 12-8 Pitt got left out last year. And ACC looks worse this year. Same in fb. Pickett superman 4 decade year would have barely got in the expanded.
