Pat Narduzzi 'not so excited' with ACC schedule overhaul

Pitt was already scheduled to play FSU & Miami on the road per the original schedule. Not sure the writer did his homework on that.

Pitt goes to Clemson now. But they don’t have to go to UNC.

I read that statement to mean that they now have to play three of the toughest ACC foes at their place. Not that they added all three games.

I see your point, but that's not how I interpreted it when I read it.

Either way, it could have been worded better.

Here’s the excerpt from the article:
. . .”the Panthers with the task of facing Clemson, Florida State and Miami on the road.
Those games were added to the schedule . . .”

He also calls UNC one of the “weaker” teams. Really? Looks to me like he’s pretty clueless.

I see it now in the next paragraph. Yep.

Out: Duke, Virginia, North Carolina

In: NC State, Boston College, Clemson, Louisville

I'd say that mostly cancels out, with the exception of Clemson. And obviously ND now counts as a conference game. So I can see why one wouldn't like the hand we've been dealt... Mostly the same schedule, except we've added the two most difficult teams in the conference to our ACC slate. I mean, everyone's schedule has gotten tougher, but I'd say we're in a tier with about 4 or 5 other teams whose schedules are noticeably tougher than a team like UNC.

Clemson and Lville are generally regarded as the upper tier of the ACC going into the season. So they replaced one upper tier team with 2. I’m not sure how it cancels out?

The schedule is brutal, but everybody’s was going to get tougher.

My only real problem with it is how they protected the North Carolina teams.

The S&P+ has the three easiest ACC schedules as UNC, Duke, NC State. And the reason for that is because they kept the three together.
The NC schools went into the new scheduling with an advantage over everybody else.

They lost UNC. I was canceling them out with Louisville. You could probably even consider that a net gain.

And I said it cancels out with the exception of Clemson. So I meant those other three teams: Duke, UVA, and UNC vs NC State, BC, and Louisville. I'd say that's somewhere between a wash and a net gain (I'd probably lean toward the latter).

It has been noted in several places that with the extra conference games every team in the conference ended up with a more difficult schedule. Except for one team. Somehow North Carolina's schedule actually got easier.
