Penn St seemed more athletic than in past

Both. Penn St is better than they have been but Pitt is so awful I am not sure it is worth trying to figure out.

to me
or was it more Pitt just so bad?
Both...PSU has had good recruiting years (for them) and play in a physical conference where they have been pushed around.
The score last night was what you would expect from a seasoned team with talent and a team thrown together at the last minute.
I love Pitt, but this is going to be a brutal year. I only hope for the sake of the players that Pitt people (and our fans seem to devour punishment like sand absorbs rain) don't let their venom loose on the players.
Stallings is getting paid handsomely, but the players are not.

It's not the players fault, It's the coaches, recruiters and admin. What we need is multiple nights of the Pete being dead silent and empty (like 500 attendance) on National TV vs. ACC opponents and being blown out 120-40. They need UGLY PAIN their way.

why would anyone blame these kids? I could see if they weren't even trying but they are trying, they are just limited in talent and have a moron for a coach

For THEM? Almost as if you're insinuating that Pitt recruiting has been better the last 5-6 years! That's a joke.
I'm not insinuiating anything. They play in the Big Ten and have historically been along the tailpipe of the league. This year they are likely middle of the pack.
Based on their recruiting over the last 20 years, this is as good a group as they have had.
Their conference is more physical than the ACC and they needed to get stronger.
But it still won't be enough in their conference.
I didn't suggest anything about our recruiting. Dixon's last few years stunk. He recruited JR and then left Pitt without a point guard in a point guard league. Stallings has done little better.

They didn’t look like they were really trying, but it could be they are just that awful? Letting PSU get multiple uncontested tomahawk dunks tells me they quit. I blame the coach for that.

No "could be" about it....they really are that "awful." I don't want to dump on the players,
they are kids....but hey have to at least show some effort, especially when you're a big underdog.
