I mentioned earlier that things are not exactly calm and happy at Penn State, and Shoop leaving paying for his own Buyout only confirms it!

Penn State's Shoop Leaving For Tennessee, LINK!!
Penn State coach James Franklin is looking for his second coordinator in two months. Defensive coordinator Bob Shoop agreed Saturday to join Tennessee coach Butch Jones' staff in the same capacity.
“This was not an easy decision and one that I didn't take lightly,” Shoop said in a statement released by Tennessee. “Over the last 24 hours, I had an opportunity with meet with coach Jones and his staff. It became evident to me that he is building a great program, a program on the rise and certainly one that will compete for an SEC championship.”
Shoop's departure comes less than two months after Franklin fired offensive coordinator John Donovan and later replaced him with Joe Moorhead.
Under Shoop, the Nittany Lions boasted one of the nation's best defenses. Penn State ranked 15th in the country in total defense this season, allowing 324.3 yards per game, and 10th against the pass. The Lions were even better in 2014, Shoop's first in University Park, ranking second in total defense (278.7 ypg) and seventh in scoring defense. The 278.7 yards per game was the Nittany Lions' second-lowest average since 1990.
“Bob has established himself as one of the premier coordinators in all of college football and is very well respected as a recruiter, football coach and person,” Jones said. “He brings a wealth of experience at the highest level and possesses all the qualities we were looking for as we went through this process.”
Tennessee athletic department spokesman Ryan Robinson said Shoop agreed to a three-year contract worth $1.15 million annually. Robinson said Tennessee isn't responsible for any buyout Shoop owes to get out of his Penn State contract.
Dating to his time with Franklin at Vanderbilt, Shoop has coordinated units that have been ranked among the top 25 nationally in total defense each of the past five seasons.
Shoop, 49, interviewed for the defensive coordinator job at LSU after the 2014 season. Afterward, he received a new three-year contract from Penn State reportedly worth close to $1 million per year, with an $850,000 buyout clause.
It was widely reported last month Shoop turned down invitations to meet with Auburn. Less than two weeks ago, before the TaxSlayer Bowl in Jacksonville, Fla., Shoop told reporters he hoped Penn State would keep him “forever and ever and ever.” On Friday, however, he surfaced in Knoxville, Tenn., to interview with Jones.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive tackle Donovan Smith, who played at Penn State before being selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, tweeted Saturday night, “Congrats on moving in to bigger and better things @Coach_ShoopPSU.”
An Oakmont native, Shoop was a three-sport standout at Riverview and is a member of the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Sports Hall of Fame.
