To me the thing that's the most remarkable about Pitt is the significant improvement of so many players over the course of the season:
  1. Ffrench has become a threat running AND catching, which two great long plays the past two games.
  2. The whole crew of interchangeable DBs who are becoming tough to throw against and are making really timely interceptions now.
  3. Pickett's transformation yesterday into a throwing threat.
  4. The defense overall slowly lowering the points against each game--13 points from a team earlier in the season that probably would have torched us.
  5. Even Christadolou's emergence as a punter with a number of really long, deep punts yesterday and in the past few weeks and finally giving us a field position threat.
  6. And of course Millin's emergence as a pass-catching tackle threat! The #70 should only be given to tackles who can catch passes and score TDs.
This improvement really is part of HCPN's coaching style--recruit under recruited great athletes and coach them up. I see that playing out with Pickett, Jackson, Pinnock, Ffrench, Reynolds, Weaver, Pine, Bright, and a number of others.
