He's saying they're not athletic enough to compete against the level of competition SJU plays in. Style of play doesn't factor in.If he is requiring them to play a style which they are not athletically capable of doing, how is that their fault? They cannot suddenly become more athletic. Aren't coaches supposed to put their players in positions to be successful, not put them in situations which they are not capable of handling?
He's also saying he had to take what he could get to fill out a roster after he was hired, basically saying he'd never have recruited these players in a normal full recruiting cycle.
Brutally honest, and not what you want to say publicly about your own players no matter how true it may be.
