Up from 6th and ahead of Penn State who fell from 4th to 5th. I think the only ranked team Pitt plays the rest of the season is #23 Florida State (twice) so there is a good chance of staying in the top 5 till tournament time, but the lack of difficult opponents could hurt when they enter post season play.

Louisville just dropped out of top 25 and is good. ND also has had some good wins this year. ACC is improved.

True, and it bodes well for Pitt that they were not intimidated when they played at Penn State. In the end, there's not much they can do about their conference schedule but keep winning.

I think we played a pretty tough non-conf schedule, 2 H-and-H vs #6 (at the time) UPS, vs #10 (at the time) Oregon and vs #16 (at the time) Utah on a neutral floor. That will help come selection time.

Out of conference was very good, but Pitt's RPI will take a hit with conference play. I think the first RPI's come out in early October. That said, if they keep winning, and get a high seed, they could make a nice run in the NCAA's.

Absolutely, they are huge favorites for their 3rd title and will be big favorites in every game, but it is still difficult to be perfect.

A win in that last set over PSU is possibly the difference between being 4th this week and being #1. 5 of the top 6 had losses last week, so the spot could have been there on the strength of sweeping the home and home vs. #4. Undefeated Baylor had quality wins last week and vaulted to #2. Still a very bright outlook for the remainder of the season into the NCAA tournament.

Did they not just get over 5000 at the field house?

Where are the local networks? This is a big deal but you would never know it watching the crap known as "local news ".
